A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.
Overheated Republican members of Congress are already calling for Biden’s resignation and/or removal from office after the bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul left at least 13 U.S. troops and dozens of Afghan civilians dead.
I’ve read that Donnie declared that the loss of life at Kabul’s airport wouldn’t have taken place had he been president.
We know this is true: he’s made very clear that he intended to evacuate as few of our Afghan auxiliaries as possible. I have little doubt he’d have barred as many family members as he could.
This likelihood deserves more play, at least as press questions to him and his affiliates.
Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld started two wars, without a clear goal or exit strategy for either affair. Every dead, maimed and traumatized soldier, and every wasted dollar that resulted are on them. This is pretty obvious, and the R’s must believe their followers are dumb enough not to figure that out. In this they are probably correct.
I just read this story. The bravery of these vets, who dubbed themselves the Pineapple Express, has me in tears this morning. I don’t know these guys or their politics but it’s clear that they are there because of a caring and love.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)tweeted that Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Milley “should all resign or face impeachment and removal from office.”
Senator Blackburn must be overly excited to welcome a President Nancy Pelosi!
Well you’ve got to admit they are predictable over there on the GOP side of the isle. By the way 2 questions, when are they going to demand an investigation into the deaths of 4 American soldiers in Nigeria and 2nd when is Josh Hawley going to be at least censured.
I think Nancy should pre-empt these goons and start some house investigations into 1. the boondoggle this war always was to make money for the defense industry; and 2. the deal Trump struck with the Taliban in 2020.
