It’s more direct than that - the RWNJ blather on about abortion contraception and IVF being paid for by the health insurance costs paid for by the employer, which is (supposedly) against their deeply held religious faith (right up until their mistress gets pregnant or their darling daughter gets knocked up by the second string quarterback). AIUI that’s what Hobby Lobby and the nun case was all about, hence the laugahbly named “restoring religious freedom Act” - or as more accurately named, “imposing a bronze age goat herder religious belief on everyone else Act”

Oh come on - just come out and admit that you really get pleasure out of making life even more agonizing for people who are struggling with infertility - you fuckers just want to piously and smugly say to these poor souls

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Katie Britt (R-AL) put forward a bill that would make states ineligible to receive Medicaid funding if they ban IVF.

This just a 2fer trojan horse.
They get to block IVF AND cutoff Medicare funding.
Its a win/win from the burn it all down party.

How about “a community heartbeat bill” whereby any person or group is required to provide funding for free daycare and education subsidies (in public school), in perpetuity, to their community and less affluent neighboring communities before they can claim a religious exemption.

They gotta have skin in the game or they’ll never learn the value of freedom and family planning.

When pressed on why he would not support Democrats’ IVF bill, Scott claimed to TPM that Democrats were “taking away religious freedoms,” an argument advanced earlier this year by the Heritage Foundation and other conservative groups, which expressed concern that Democrats’ IVF bill would force religious institutions to provide IVF coverage for employees even if it goes against their beliefs.

I agree with Sen. Scott: the clear solution is for the United States Government to provide health coverage for everyone in the country, thereby freeing religious institutions of the burden of having to decide which healthcare decisions they will support, and what life-affirming care they will deny their employees access to.

1. Most of these states’ governors refused the Medicaid expansion, so they’ll be glad to have this as a “penalty”.
