Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) is now looking to fundraise off the fact that the U.S.’s top infectious disease expert dubbed him a “moron” last week. The remark was uttered into a hot mic, after the GOP senator falsely and conspiratorially insisted that the White House chief medical adviser hadn’t already made his financial disclosures public (he had).
If Roger Marshall had a sense of humor (he most certainly does not), that t-shirt would have a picture of himself. Fauci is 100% not a moron and Roger Marshall comes out of this looking petty and childish - in addition to the fact that he’s a fucking moron.
Reminding people that a PhD scientist who has combatted all kinds of diseases in service to the nation called you a moron seems like a, well, moronic campaign slogan…reminding voters that you’re an idiot isn’t a great way to win elections.
Though, it’s possible Marshall knows his voters well and has no fear that they will care, or understand.
It’s official: The GOOP is a party of proud morans.
TALLAHASSEE (The Borowitz Report)—As he explores a bid for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination, Governor Ron DeSantis is betting that G.O.P. voters are looking for a stupider version of Donald J. Trump.
According to a source close to DeSantis, the Florida Governor has decided to “run to the stupid of Trump” to pick up the support of voters who now consider the former President too intellectual.
“When Trump recently said that he got the booster, that was the last straw,” the source said. “In the eyes of a lot of Republicans, Trump is basically Fauci now.”
“Trump’s surrender to science is a slippery slope,” the source added. “It’s only a matter of time before he starts flirting with geography and grammar.” As DeSantis stakes his claim to the dumber-than-Trump lane, he spoke at a fund-raising event over the weekend.
“Donald Trump believes that one plus one equals two,” the Governor told his audience. “I think the American people should be free to decide for themselves what one plus one equals.”
Well yeah. One of these days soon it would be interesting to see some ER folks walk off the job given the risks and much of the clientele clogging up the works for people who are sane and have other illnesses. It just seems like the only way to fight back against all this absolute nonsense. In the end, mother nature will decide in the ER and on the only planet we have.
