GOP Senator Says He’s ‘Not Surprised’ About Trump Attacking Him For Calling Election ‘Fair’

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) refused to back down on his remarks calling the 2020 presidential election “fair” after former President Trump accused him of being “woke” for daring to defy his election fraud falsehoods.

How nice, Mitt. So because trump really lost, there’s no need for protection of voting rights.

Could we be seeing the long-anticipated GOP split between the Big Liars and the Even Bigger Liars? And if so, which side does Joe Manchin end up on?

Manchin only lies about the BBB.

Not gonna happen. Never ever. Maybe a couple, that’s it.

The pushback beginith.

"If we’re being honest, there was no evidence of widespread fraud that would have altered the results of the election,” Rounds said.

Romney seconds the commotion:
“Mike Rounds speaks truth knowing that our Republic depends upon it. Republicans like Govs Hutchinson, Baker & Hogan; Sens McConnell, Thune & Johnson; Bush & Cheney; plus 60+ courts and even the right-leaning Wall Street Journal editorial page agree: Joe Biden won the election.”

Powerful stuff, right? Yeah! Not really. Just enough to give the cowardly enablers, go-alongs, get alongs, white glove fascists some cover while the snakehead in Florida spews his daily poison.

Okay. The establishment GQP, the Villagers are carving out some space for themselves. I suppose that’s something.

One thing it does signal is the effectiveness and increasing clout of the Jan 6 Committee. That’s significant.

But Rounds and Romney? Weak tea.

Rounds also noted that then-Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the Senate during the joint session of Congress certifying Biden’s win, “acted with integrity” by not challenging the results.

“It’s time for the rest of us do the same,” Rounds said.

I have nothing to add except to ask, move on to what, voter suppression and nullification?

That is every Republican in the House and the Senate including Rounds and Cheney are in full support of the Supreme Court and Chief Injustice Roberts road map on stealing elections by allowing State Legislatures to keep power by picking their voters and then staying in power by ignoring voters and instead deciding themselves who wins elections.

This. Exactly.

OT
At least they didn’t offer him the keys to the city:

Dominick Black, who bought Kyle Rittenhouse the gun he used in deadly shootings during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020, will no longer face criminal charges.

Black instead will plead no contest to a county ordinance citation of contributing to the delinquency of a child and face a $2,000 fine, prosecution and defense attorneys said in court Monday.

Increasingly we see Republicans and right-wing media pretending that they do not understand how representative government works. In Europe, adult permanent residents in most countries (i.e. taxpayers) are allowed to vote in local or municipal elections. This is not even controversial. Permanent residents as a rule contribute positively to their communities and the law recognizes that they should have a small amount of say. Only citizens, of course, can vote in national elections, referenda and e.g. EU rep. elections.

Attn: Mitch, Lindsey, Qevin, et. al. This is how a person with a spine responds to a terrible toddler tyrant. Can we find a few others who are not terrified by the tantrums to stand up and say, “ENOUGH!”?

Again, WHO FUCKING CARES?

Is this guy obstructing everything in the Senate? YES.

Is he part of the GQP cabal that is preventing election reform, BBB and hampered a solid infrastructure bill? YES.

Is he cheering for all the voter suppression and election rigging bullshit the GQP has pulled around the country in an effort to rig our country’s democracy into an illusory farce that establishes permanent minority-rules white Christian hegemony with them at the helm forever? YES

The list is endless.

FUCK HIM. HIS QUIBBLING WITH TRUMP IS A NON-STORY AND HE SHOULD BE STUFFED IN A BAG WITH THE REST OF HIS COHORTS AND DROWNED IN THE SEA OF THEIR OWN AVARICE AND PERFIDY.

NMNQ Fuck this KKKLOWN.

Not here in Germany.

There may, however, be some movement toward it. I actually was allowed to vote on representatives for a commission on (im)migrant affairs which is being newly created. My husband received it as an addendum to his regular ballot, I received only this section – but it was the first time I got to vote here ever, in spite of being a long-time permanent resident and taxpayer.

(I was very surprised when I received my ballot in the mail, because I’d not heard about this initiative.)

BREAKING, from The Weekly Whinger:

Trump just attacked Rounds for saying he’s not surprised that Trump attacked him for calling the election fair. Rounds couldn’t be reached for his reaction to Trump’s latest remarks but in anticipation of his insolent reaction Trump issued a statement describing the South Dakota Republican as a “Low IQ wiener and not my friend anymore”.

Trump claims his endorsement made the difference between winning and losing for a Republican in South Dakota. Totally delusional.
