Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), usually a fairly reliable Republican foot soldier, grilled a Trump judicial nominee Wednesday about his bigoted preachings. President Trump nominated Olson, currently in private practice, to be a U.S. district judge for the Southern District of Indiana. “Senator, I believe every word of the Bible,” Olson said.

Clarence Thomas is also basically a Natural Law theorist. I do hope we get to vote these lizard people out before we become a theocracy!

President Trump nominated Olson, currently in private practice, to be a U.S. district judge for the Southern District of Indiana. He has been active in anti-trans litigation, leading a case to have trans women athletes stripped of their NCAA awards.

The NCAA already has stripped Lia Thomas of her (tied for) 5th place title.

It changed nothing for any of the other swimmers…except, of course, for Riley Gaines who has made a lucrative career from her going from placing 5th to…wait for it.…placing 5th!

The senator then moved to Olson’s comments about women, that God “has called wives to be subject to their husband” and to “serve the good of your husband and support his calling.”

“You believe Christian marriage provides that women have to be subservient to their husbands?” Kennedy asked.

“Those are not my words,” Olson responded, saying he was quoting the Bible.

“You said them, do you believe them?” Kennedy asked.

“Senator, I believe every word of the Bible,” Olson said.

This sexist pig doesn’t belong within several million parsecs of a judgeship.

Kennedy’s office did not immediately respond to TPM’s questions about whether the senator will support Olson’s confirmation.

That’s alright. I think that I can speak for Senator Kennedy’s office:

Of course Senator Kennedy will support Olson’s confirmation!

If y’all use Matthew 19:12 to argue that disabled people shouldn’t have kids, then you should take the advice yourself. Jesus is very clear on what you need to do. Have you done it Mr. Olson?

If not, would you do it to get the job?

Senator Kennedy is a cosplaying ass. He could’ve spent his Senate career doing good instead of playing a toothless hillbilly on cue.

Article fails to mention what “Olson” Olson is.

It is Justin Olson of Indiana.

Whoa! Senator JFK (R-La) was on fire! He had the quotes, he pursued the line of questioning! Just like reporters did, back in the day, before they became “Journalists.”

Sadly, all of “Olson’s” responses were exactly in the philosophy of the fundamentalist Christianists who run the once Grand but increasingly Old Party. JFK sounded accusatory, though. What will it mean?

Thank you! I had been wondering, after parsing through the article and its header. Funny a dude from INDIANA is still up for confirmation, considering how the Republicans burned the Drowsing Dotard on his Gerrymandering Adventure Tour.

My own take on it is the “A” for those who use the bible to make their arguments stands for “ANTI”.

Justin Olsen seems to believe that the US was created by God’s will, and thus each and every citizen must follow his religious tenets. It seems that Olsen wasn’t taught the 1st Amendment. And if he can’t understand that we don’t have a state religion as per our Constitution then he doesn’t deserve to be any kind of judge.
