GOP Sen. Toomey Calls Trump Offenses ‘Impeachable’ | Talking Points Memo

They are too stupid to see it. The MSM would anoint the same former craven liars and Trump acolytes as true patriots if they were to support impeachment. The stench of their support of Trump the past 4+ years would be wiped out by the MSM. Not to worry, as I said, Republicons are far too stupid to see the way out.

Meh…it works just fine if the don’t. History’s pens are scribbling…let them write their own infamy.

I’ve read too many posts and can’t remember who, but someone said because of this Trump really did make America great again. Kinda funny, in a way. HaHa…

Back in 2016, I said that Trump was a gift to the Democratic Party. I just didn’t think it would take this long for us to be able to use the gift certificate.

What’s the downside?

True that. He called the loser a demagogue on the senate floor the other night but has never addressed like all the repub senators but one why he didn’t vote to convict him when he could have.

Well American government works best when there are two parties. But from my point of view the Republicans can be replaced the same way the Republicans replaced the Whigs.

Like his father, hustler Joe Buck, he’s shooting blanks.

All the more reason for Mitch to slow walk it. Unless he calls a special session, all 100 senators would need to agree to a vote in the pro forma session.

By the Silly Party. It would be a step up from Olé Biscuit Barrel.

On the one hand, you were right.

On the other hand, so. much. destruction.

While Dems will now have all three, the damage and the price paid were sky high and quite possibly not worth it. The damage was ENORMOUS and perhaps irreversible. (not to be overly negative, just sayin’…)

I am actually torn on term limits. We have them here in Oklahoma, and one of the major impacts is that it has hollowed out the institutional memory that allowed the Legislature to put together a budget (or write a decent bill instead of relying on the American Legislative Exchange Council to write conservatively approved bills. It also means that we have a steady rotation between the legislature and lobbies.
But you’re right–these guys need to take a stand that isn’t informed by the chance of drawing a primary opponent. Am I correct in remembering that Obama talked about being willing to be a one-term President if that was what was required to pass health care?

Ugh. My good name being dragged through the mud again by that wanker from KY.

I’ve had the distinct feeling that what we’re seeing is the end of the American Century.

That would qualify! What’s your bet?

The more Republicans sign on to impeachment, the more likely it is that their party will continue to have influence nationally.

Problem is they’re on the roof of a 45-story building with no stairs, no elevator, no fire escape, and the fire department has only one trampoline.
