GOP Sen. Says He’ll ‘Step In’ If Biden Doesn’t Start Getting Intel Briefings By Friday

Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, pledged on Wednesday to take action if President Donald Trump’s General Services Administration (GSA) continues to block President-elect Joe Biden from receiving daily intelligence briefings.

Sure he will. Let it burn just a bit more first.
Because the briefings are important regardless of who is the next POTUS?
The Republican random bullshit generator in action. So many “concerned” sycophants. Trying to appear to be a stupid person’s idea of what smart people sound like.
Not holding my breath.

OK Senator. … you have stood up … now we will all wait to see if you take actual steps toward integrity & justice … or if you get scolded, crumble and sit back down in silence.

Do you believe in the principles of this nation … or is your political future more important? … do you side with those seeking to invalidate a democratic election & overthrow the government ?

Sounds courageous and nice to see but there must be something self-serving behind this. He doesn’t appear to be delusional in that he sees himself as 2024 presidential timber like Pompeo, who’s head btw appears as big as Barr’s now. Just an observation.

“And if that’s not occurring by Friday, I will step in as well and to be able to push them and say ‘This needs to occur,’ so that regardless of the outcome of the election, whichever way that it goes, people can be ready for that actual task,” Lankford said.

Pusillanimous pettifogging pipsqueak.

Oklahoma is definitely not sending its best.

One of the reasons they don’t want Biden briefed is that there are a lot of things happening that need to be dealt with that Trump and his toadies in the WH and Congress are just ignoring, especially if it involves the Russians.

Where the fuck is Richard Burr, chair of the Senate Intel Committee?

ETA: I forgot he stepped down as chair while under investigation for insider trading along with Loeffler. Marco Rubio is the acting chair, emphasis on “acting.”

Fine, but will he be part of the team to head to the WH on January 20th to drag Fat Nixon out??

However weak this sauce may be, he will still get death threats following the inevitable presidential tweet calling him a RINO. Just happened to one of our Republican commissioners here in Philly yesterday, after he had the audacity to state that there was no evidence of voter fraud in the city.

He stepped down because of insider trading issues, Rubio is now the chair.

This seems like a commitment that would have been run by McConnell first, no?

Actually, I think they are, at least from the Republican side.

You people aren’t taking this seriously enough, & just when the tide is beginning to turn against Biden:

What can he “step in and provide” that Senator Harris does not already get or have access to ?

Is he going to swing by State & pick up all of that mail addressed to “President-Elect Biden” and hand deliver it to Biden?

Yup, thanks. Realized right after I posted.

Lankford is a lickspittle who runs on his Christianity and conservatism and then approves whatever vile and unconservative actions the Trump administration tries. He was my Congressperson before he became Senator, and the major change was that he was able to ignore constituent concerns from a larger office.
I will say this, however: if he actually does “step in” on Friday, it will be a major sign that Trump is losing power. Lankford only does things that are advantageous to him, and he is a political coward. If he feels safe to act, things are bad for Trump.

Weak broth, made from the boiling of someone’s backbone. But not hardy enough to be a nourishing part of a meal.
