Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) went off on a rant on Monday night about those who oppose having schools reopen in the fall amid the COVID-19 outbreak, which has worsened dramatically in the U.S. over the past several weeks.

I’m still amazed everyday by how short sighted the entire lot of the GOP is.
What’s amazing is that these people are openly courting a disaster that’s almost guaranteed to play out in only a couple of months. It’s not just a bad bet, it’s an utterly ridiculous bet that’s almost sure to end in an obvious tragedy from which none of these Republicans will be able to ever distance themselves. I’m not sure what they’re thinking because it doesn’t appear as though they’re thinking at all. This is beyond crazy even for most Republicans.
