Rep. Don Young (R-AK) apologized on Thursday for encouraging Alaskans to “go forth with our everyday activities” despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and mocking the coronavirus as “a beer virus.”
Bygones!
Hoping we get an apology from this wraithed, sycophantic sellout at some point too.
Beer virus? Beer virus? Oh, I get it. Never mind.
He’s in Congress, for Pete’s sake, with access to Intelligence briefings, public health experts, etc. And even while several of his Republican colleagues took it seriously enough to use their inside information to make stock trades -though apparently not to warn their constituents -he was still soft-peddling the danger to his constituents. He has no excuse for that behavior. All of this was foreseeable, and, in fact, was forseen.
Young apologizing? Why? I loved his comedy routine about the lack of amenities at Auschwitz.
The supposed joke is so powerfully lame that it doesn’t register at first.
Stating the obvious:
In 2018 and 2019, booking Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos was a top priority for both producers and anchors at Fox News Channel, so much so that one Fox News producer sought to reassure DeVos’ press secretary that host Maria Bartiromo would go easy on the secretary if she sat for an interview, which she did six days later.
On Nov. 21, 2018, the producer wrote: “Ps remember any question she doesn’t feel comfortable answering — she can choose to not answer and pivot the topic — and Maria is seasoned enough to understand and move on. … So no worries on that front. This will be an easy interview and enjoyable.” (The producer is no longer with the company.)
WTF. Unbelievable.
Makes me admire Dr. Fauci all the more. I’ve lost all respect for her. A long career just thrown away.
