GOP Rep Torched For Vaccine Holocaust Comparison That Even Greene Apologized For | Talking Points Memo

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) was called out by Twitter users on Wednesday night after posting a now-deleted tweet that likened vaccine mandates to an arm tattooed with a concentration camp identification number.

You didn’t get a tattoo to buy doughnuts and stuff, you dipshit. They tattooed prisoners in Auschwitz who weren’t going straight to the gas. I’m just full of empathy for your concerns but every single one of you goddamn morons needs to stop this hysterical, offensive, and deeply stupid comparison. With all due respect, of course. Idiots.

A prime example of what the world calls “insular American thinking”…

The Holocaust took place in a land far from Massie. Long before he was born. It involved people both perpetrators and victims he’s no part of. But the rich kid sees fit to yak about it. Being the vulgar American he is also insults 20 to 30 million people in their graves.

Cruelty may be the point with Republicans, but shamelessness is the modality; e.g., DeSantis blames Biden for not ending Covid

ETA: Massie is a cheeky little toad but he and his friends have gained enough control over the levers of law and government to feel emboldened as there seem to be few consequences and the cash flow is good; i.e., expect ever greater flights of malice and stupidity until this civic trash dump is burned.

What an absolute shirtbird. If this clown was able to ask my great grandfather what being in a Nazi occupied county was like, he’d get a refresher he’d never forget.

Of course, he can’t ask my great grandfather, and we all know why, and it didn’t involve any goddamn mask mandate. And frankly, were my Zadie’s father alive, he probably wouldn’t hesitate a second to punch a joker like this right between the eyes.

I’d like to see some most GOP reps torched. In the flammable sense.

Only if their name is in the article.

Just because they’re a cult that promotes death is no reason to call them a Death Cult.

Fun Fact: Consuming grape-flavored Flavor Aid, when mixed with just the right “supplements,” has been proven 100% effective against contracting COVID.

What is it with these idiot’s fascination with the Nazis? With every reference to the Holocaust they stick out their chin with pride, like it was some great accomplishment then, and somehow use it to make a point about public health now.

Also referred to as “Provincialism”.

Not quite the same thing. A provincial person is an uneducated one. A person with the manners of the people outside refined society. From the provinces. That does not mean Provence France. Insular means seeing all things through your own experience. Not quite the same thing buy they usually go hand in hand.

This is the same entitled asshole who forced his House colleagues to return to DC to vote on a coronavirus aid bill. He has no friends. All the others, they hate him.

My wife and I have talked about the value of experience. I have mentioned this before, but a little-seen sleeper film called Brother Future featured a young, modern African American (not very diligent with his studies) suddenly–by virtue of a freak accident–thrust back into Ante Bellum South Carolina of the 1820s.

The experience broadened his perspective. But, then again, this young man was not stupid like Massie and, in addition:

Massie has powerful bad actors rewarding stupid.

OT although this film was a sleeper, it had well-known actors Frank Converse, Carl Lumbly, Moses Gunn. The part of the film where the slave played by Moses Gunn is told that his descendants would someday be free was an emotional one for me

Only slightly OT, barely a week after in-person school started back up:

A North Texas charter school is temporarily closing its doors because of a COVID-19 outbreak, after nearly 1 in every 10 students reported a lab-confirmed case of the coronavirus.

Trivium Academy, a 600-student K-11 public charter school in Carrollton (the school expects to have its first graduating class in 2023), announced its pending closure Wednesday.

Administrators and Denton County Public Health’s chief epidemiologist Juan Rodriguez found that illness was “so widespread that contact tracing becomes almost impossible,” Trivium Superintendent Sheryl Bradley wrote in a letter to parents.

On Monday, the charter school reported 36 lab-confirmed cases to the state, as required by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Department of State Health Services. By noon Wednesday, another 20 cases had been identified.

And the school’s total number of cases is likely underreported, Bradley said. . . .

Prior to the outbreak, the school did not have a mask mandate.

That’s immediately to the northwest of the Dallas city line. Morons.
