A Republican congressman tore into President Donald Trump Wednesday night for finding fault with parts of the COVID-19 stimulus and government package that were also in the White House’s budget proposal.
So what’s with this construction, which TPM uses constantly:
“The covid deal had none of the pork that is being discussed,” the congressman said. “It was, however, combined with the omnibus. The omni had tons of pork. Again, though, this was Trump’s pork.”
Finally, people are conflating 2 things. The covid deal had none of the pork that is being discussed. It was, however, combined with the omnibus. The omni had tons of pork. Again, though, this was Trump’s pork.
Why put the quote inline in the article, then put the full tweety-tweet in right afterwards? Do one or the other. No point in being tediously redundant.
There is precious little evidence that Trump fully understands or even knows what’s in his budget or the bills in question, what he knows is that his days are numbered and he’s decompensating accordingly; i.e., virtually everyone is an enemy now.
”The House GOP ‘has stood by him for 4 years,’ Gonzalez said of Trump.”
Battered Republican Syndrome™.
And yet, they just never learn, do they?
(“He’s a good man, officer! He didn’t mean no harm! I fell asleep in the driveway, and he accidently backed over muh head with the pickup! He’s sleepin’ it off now, under the trailer with his best dog, Skeeter.”)
The only words I want to hear from Republicans is how they could be so stupid and Unamerican to back a POS like Trump.
If I who knows no one in power, knew about Trump, before he ran for President, how fucking stupid is the GOP?
Hilarious that this GOP Rep finally — after >25,000 documented lies — discovers that tramp is a lying POS. What is next? That McConnell and his wife are corrupt to the max?
