Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) confirmed on Saturday that a top aide from his office had alerted law enforcement hours before the Jan. 6 Capitol attack about comments the aide had overheard in a hotel lobby regarding what seemed to be plans to breach the Capitol.
“I know for a fact that I saw people in my hotel room that were saying they were going to do something at 2 o’clock. And that happened at 9 o’clock in the morning,” Gimenez had said during that interview on Wednesday.
“We need to get to the bottom of what the Capitol Police knew, what were their operating procedures, their communication — it looked like the response was disjointed at best and that should have never happened,” Gimenez said on Saturday.
That’s not the only thing we need to get to the bottom of, is it?
All this talk about whether or not Trump incited the riot with his speech on January 6th ignores the months of time and money he spent setting up January 6th as the time of the insurrection. Before he even lost he was claiming the election was rigged. His minions were hyping the 6th as the day to come to Washington, and then he sent them to the Capitol in his speech. The fact that some of them openly described why they were there before he gave that speech isn’t exonerating at all. It just shows Trump planned this.
Gimenez told CNN’s Jim Acosta that his chief of staff, Alex Ferro, had overheard troubling comments from one of the men that appeared to be about storming the Capitol.
I read about this at some other site (CNN?) yesterday. I thought that he said that he overheard them say that they were planning to storm the FBI building, not the Capitol.
So what I wonder would the MFWWNBN have done if they really had dragged Pence out and hanged him? I really think he would have stayed in front of the monitors and watched with that vacant, arrogant expression of his.
Yeah since the whole idea was to stop Congress from certifying the election. hahahahahaha
But the best moment of the whole insurrection was when that group found Ted Cruz’s notes and erupted thinking he was going to betray them by doing exactly what they were supposed to want - voting against certification.
