GOP Rep. Ron Wright Dies From COVID-19 | Talking Points Memo

They have been telling us almost since the beginning that those with preconditions and compromised immune systems should take extra care as you may well get hit harder… But suspect you are right that it’ll be spun otherwise.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Oh, here we go:

Irony and shame free:

Pro life - you know, as long as they’re not born yet:

He doesn’t seem to be at the top of the GOTPer Dickbag Scale, since he says businesses (he’s a GOTPer, can’t expect him to care about actual people, obviously), but a good third of what he seems to go on about is The Chinese Menace:

Of course there’s blind attacks on Biden, because, you know, Democrats are evil:

And of course more Biden hate:

Take away the blind hatred of Democrats, and his minimizing of Coronavirus, and his Twitter feed is basically a bunch of “let’s observe (fill in anti-trafficking/abortion/whatever) day here.”

Not the worst of them, but definitely part of the problem.

In other congressional news, Donnie Jr. is threatening to primary Liz Cheney.

All I can say is, “Try it, sucker.”

‘He was a statesman, not an ideologue’…pretty sad the statement even has to say this…

I was just about to post this. The timeline seems possible if not probable. I’d like to know if he was wearing a mask while they were all hidden away sheltering in place.

His office announced that he had Covid-19 in January. It’s on the Texas Tribune Web site dated January 21. This is in a footnote in the Wikipedia article about him.

Can you be faulted for not knowing? It’s a matter of your chosen media not letting you know.

Ah, there you go. I didn’t scroll that far. I’ve got to remember to check out the 6th in all cases.

This virus does not care about your politics, faith, money or power.

Yes,…well…he was a wanker.

Like many conservatives discussing gun control in the wake of a mass shooting over the past three decades, Wright begins the column calling for time to mourn the dead before the debate over gun control begins.

Wright then shifts, placing the blame on “societal causes” and calling for “effective deterrents” to future shootings. That’s when he recommends public executions, with bodies “hung on a post in a public place for all to see.”

“Ranchers in West Texas kill coyotes and hang their hides on barbed-wire fences to scare away other coyotes. Would the same principle not work for humans who commit heinous crimes?..”

The shit is real. We had the funeral last Friday for a 57 year old employee of mine who died from it. She had been in the hospital for 2 months, 6 weeks in ICU. She had no pre-existing conditions. She was a soprano singer on her church worship team. The virus ravaged her lungs. She was sedated and on a ventilator the entire month of January.

Fake news, nobody dies from Covid., he might have died with Covid, which is a completely different matter…hey wait… I see this new memo. Yes, Rep Wright died from Covid and Joe Biden is to blame, he has done nothing to fight the pandemic other that ordering lockdowns and rtuining the economy!!!

I’m not really seeing what your statement has to do with mine. Yes we all die. But what has that got to do with deriving pleasure from the death of others?

It’s so cute the way you can find the bright side of things.

He was an ideologue. Just look at the bills he sponsored in the last congress. Pure, unadulterated GOP doctrine.
