Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) reportedly raked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has openly boosted the bonkers “QAnon” conspiracy theory, over the coals in their group text with other freshmen GOP lawmakers on Tuesday.
Rep. Jason Crow:
If members of Congress were somehow involved in the planning efforts of
rioters, those members should be "expelled from
Congress." He adds that those members should be prohibited from
holding elected office and be "subject to criminal
prosecution." @MSNBC
…and yet Mace will vote against impeachment. Her speech on the floor was awful, citing MLK to ‘both sides’ the violence. She sounds just like a typical conservative judge. Nancy Mace represented the 55% of white women who voted for Trump well. Disgraceful.
Mace still exhibits that maddening (mostly Republican) twitch of equivocating, but she was pretty good at condemning the Sedition Caucus in her interviews yesterday. She might actually be a good-faith player in the House for the next two years.
ETA: A commenter just posted that she came out against impeachment so let me replace what I just said with a hearty, “Fuck you.” If she decides to vote Yay later today, I think I’ll still let this statement stand.
I’m not a lawyer and I know the T word is being thrown around an awful lot, but I honestly wonder if this isn’t actual, verifiable, prosecutable, convictable treason.
