Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) on Monday revealed that he received a threatening voicemail days after he broke ranks, alongside 12 other Republicans, to help pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill last week.
Our country can’t afford this partisan dysfunction any longer.
The final nail in his political coffin.
Fascinating that the Dems just spent MONTHS wrangling about these bills without threatening bodily harm or death at other party members. Granted…many of us out here have had less than charitable thoughts about the Manchinavelli Twins.
It’s nice to see people are passionate enough about politics that even a boring bill that allocates money to refurbish trains and replace old bridges keeps them engaged.
More ‘moderate’ Republicans are finally getting the message that Republican ‘intelligentsia’ such as David Frum and Bill Krystol got: nobody here cares about your ideas – they were only convenient for a time – and there is only room in this party for y’alls if you follow and actively endorse the Trumpian Christianist project; f*ck diversity; full stop.
Why phone it in? Above all these people are Cowards to the core. Trying to intimidate from behind the KB or via an anonymous phone call is the ultimate chicken move.
… a caller told the GOP congressman that he is a “f**king piece of sh*t traitor.”
A piece of shit traitor to who?
His constituents who will benefit from the legislation?
The Constitution?
The country?
Trump?
The Republican party?
Fucking pieces of shit like the caller?
“I’ll tell you it’s a terrible way — we have seen civility really downslide here,” Upton said. “I’m concerned about my staff. They are taking these calls.”
Gee, I wonder which Rep from which Party started us on the road to the end of civility?
The thing about MTG tweeting out Congressperson’s office phone numbers is that if you can read Twitter then you have a computer devise. And if they just typed in house.gov they could get all of this info.
Just sorts weird coming from people who won’t back their positions in an argument, but will insist that “you do your own research”.
