GOP Rep Gripes Jan. 6 Commission Is ‘Tainted’ By Politics After GOP Senators Tank Bipartisan Bill | Talking Points Memo

With due apologies to derp-nozzles everywhere.

ETA: I apologize for not adding much to the conversation. I just had an irresistible compulsion to use derp-nozzles in a sentence.

We knew there were serious problems in the GOP during these last four years.

This last four months tell us they are no longer in the same country. That party has left our shores, the flag, the Constitution and the citizens they represent behind. They are off on a cruise only MTG and Gaetz could appreciate.

And I see the iceberg lurking in the distance in front of them. And like their dear leader being unable to locate a light switch in the White House, they can’t find the power switch for the radar. They are too busy yukking it up on Fox and Hi-Fiving over Voter restrictions.

All I hear from Tapper interviewing an asshat Tepub spewing talking points, is it reverberating through the universe. Cheap, unfiltered advertisement in sound bites. I’ll never understand American 24/7 news networks. They’ll do anything for a few bucks. It’s what keeps the audience entertained and not so long ago helped get the Rump elected.

Perhaps, but the coalition that will take over is also very conservative. Time will tell.

To mix metaphors, the bad apple doesn’t fall far from the rotten tree. I hope the authorities are preparing for a storming of the knesset.

Fine, then let the AG form a commission of independent well known investigators.

Full subpoena power as in a criminal trial. Refuse to appear, you go to jail for contempt. And, Congress agrees anyone from Congress who tries to avoid the investigation will likely be expelled.

Televised.

Or, you can agree with Nancy and Chuck.

You have until June 15th to decide.

You bet he is scared! The entire Rethug Congress is absolutely s#!tting bricks that the truth of their fecklessness, complicity and cowardice will be exposed right before the midterms, and their demise will be a phenomenon not seen in the history of American politics.

It’s going to be a footrace between an open, unimpeded investigation into 1/6, and the on-going and intensifying GQP voter suppression antics.

It’s not a done deal. I read at Haaretz that by midweek the final decision will be announced. A coalition will probably happen, albeit, a very conservative one. The majority of Israelis don’t want a fifth election.

Members of the GOP and brazen lying go together like maggots in a putrefying carcass – much better than peas in a pod. No lie too big, no lie too small, every single day. Who can be sure that in twenty years, say, we will still have survived this vile sickness? Maybe we will have come through; after all, the related sickness in Germany lasted twelve years…

You answered your own question here. And the only GQP that was concerned about coverage is the ringleader, hiding in one of his lairs.

Why would the DOJ take over an investigation when they’re gonna need all of their people prosecuting now close to 500 people? Can a competent DOJ do both, but why give fodder to Trump and Fox?

I assume McCaul comes from a R+25 Congressional District?
