While questioning Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) made difficult-to-believe claims about her constituents’ interests in the former vice president’s son and his role in a Ukrainian gas company.
It’s so satisfying watching a 3rd term congresswoman kiss her political career goodbye in real time.
Were she a man I would be tempted to say, “Aloha, Noah.”
Stefanik’s recent exposure to the camera is going to her head.

Stefanik must see her job as spinning false narratives and confirming the neuroses of her constituents.
“I know that my constituents in New York-21 have many concerns about the fact that Hunter Biden, the son of the vice president, sat on the board of a corrupt company like Burisma,”
Oh yeah, I’m sure that’s way up on the list of their concerns.
She “claims” her constituents have many concerns about Hunter Biden . . . I am going to bet her constituents do have concerns, but they about her sanity and not Hunter Biden
Right up there with the Ukrainian role in subverting 45’s campaign.
Stefanik thinks her constituents are concerned about corruption at a gas company in Ukraine? Where are the endless surveys of local diners when we need them for actual fact checking?
Her constituents are also concerned about why there’s not four-way stop at the intersection of Main and Third Streets. Should they also subpoena all the town selectmen?
No one in NY-21 gives two craps about Hunter Biden. The people I talk to there are worried more about things like jobs, the environment, and election security.
Schiff should tell Nunes he can bring Hunter in, but only if the committee first talks to Ivanka.
How does headlining this stuff inform anyone of anything?
Focus on what the Democratic Reps and the witnesses have to say.
And right up there with gun control, reproductive rights, and climate change. Someone should tell her to stop drinking the Kool-Aide.
I am sure it is also true that some of her constituents are concerned about elves. Some of her consituentes might worry about aliens. Some might even worry about the government taking over their medicare.
I am sure some of her constituents are as batshit crazy as she is.
Blaming her own guano brains on her constituents, however, is pretty low and insulting to most of them, I am sure.
Honestly, I would like to see DJTJ come in and act like Corey Lewandowski and get the gavel shoved up his you-know-where before he’s even aware of it.

What Hunter Biden did does raise the specter of a potential conflict of interest and cozy corruption. Of course, that sort of crap is normal in American elite circles. The rich irony is the Trump children are masters of both cozy corruption and more importantly the real thing.
A lot of Americans in both parties realize that the children of rich and powerful people getting such jobs is problematic. They know that the only way Trump wins in 2020 is if Trump can tie the Democratic nominee to the inside the beltway gang who seemingly care more about feathering their own nests than the welfare of regular Americans. That is why the Republicans are trying to rub Biden’s nose in what his son did. That is also why it is pretty damn clear Trump wants to run against Biden who Trump thinks is the easiest to tie to old time corruption and to Democratic billionaires and other clueless beltway elites.
The people I talk to there stage protests at her office.
Anyone know who’s running against Stefanik? Is there a single candidate, or must one wait until the primary to donate? I have my wallet out.
