GOP Rep Argues Trump Has ‘Different Set Of Rules’ With Classified Docs

Very simple, If Trump declassified the documents when he was president why don’t they get released to the public?

You clearly “don’t have all the facts” about how former president Twice Impeached changed the rules for declassifying documents which stemmed from his proclamation that “I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president.”

I don’t mean to be snarky in asking – if that’s so, then what’s actually “declassified” in that case? It would be kind of meaningless, it seems.

“As of this moment, these files are under double secret classification!”

You’re right – he thinks he’s declassified whatever was in the folders, but that’s horseshit. 1. It would say on the front, as well as on every page, that the document was declassified and by what authority. 2. As I wrote below, Trump’s essentially claiming that he randomly went around declaring America’s most closely-held national security intelligence is now an open public record. It’s totally insane no matter which way you look at it.

Note to Rep. McCaul (R-MAGAstan): The word “classified” does not appear in 18 US Code §793 or any other place in the Espionage Act. (h/t @irasdad)

Exactly. Why don’t we all try FOIA-ing everything at Mar-a-Lago and see how that goes.

To recap:

  1. He stole government property.
  2. He mishandled the government property he stole.
  3. He obstructed the government’s attempts to recover the property he stole and mishandled.

Nothing there about “classified,” though two observations on that:

  1. If he did “declassify” anything, he likely did so illegally.
  2. That some docs (lots!) are in fact classified just makes the the enumerated crimes worse, and will probably lead to additional charges to boot.

It is worth recalling, though it is such a mundane point that no one seems to have mentioned it recently, that if a Democratic president (or former president) were to have taken government papers to his/her residence and refused to hand them back to the proper authorities, the Republicans in their apoplectic outrage would all be this close to melt-down on the talk shows.

They do outrage better.

I’m so sick of Donald Trump I could throw up. He has to disappear of the political horizon, and I don’t care how it happens at this point. All I care about is that it happens soon.

I think the problem is that he removed them, effectively stealing documents that do not belong to him.

I understand he’s been deleting comments from people accusing him of being gay all day.

I find that amusing.

He needed a fairy wand and this incantation: “bippity, boppity, boo”. All while wearing a dress with fairy wings.

So why is Trump the only FPOTUS who is in hot water for having US property that doesn’t belong to him?

We know about zombie lies. This is the zombie lies apocalypse. “Maybe he declassified all the docs.” He’s not being investigated for matters of classification. One zombie down, but look behind you! “I wouldn’t do it myself, but I’m not the president.” Neither is he, you brainless turd. That’s the point! Another zombie down, but look there! It’s another “maybe he declassified all the docs” zombie! And behind him, an “FBI is the Gestapo” zombie!
