The Trump II Consolidation of Power From the racist redistricting rush across the South to the weaponization of the Justice Department to the criminalizing of opposition ideology, we’re witnessing Trump Republicans using the power of the state to consolidate and entrench their own political power and squeeze out Democrats’ ability to meaningfully contest that power.…

President Donald Trump is “painfully, obviously baffled,” according to a scathing new takedown from the New York Times, as he runs headlong into his “true weakness”: people who cannot be bought or threatened into compliance.

On Thursday, prominent conservative Trump critic David French published the piece, writing that the Iran war has revealed “a kind of person who truly flummoxes Trump, the person he just can’t understand — the true believer.” His inability to handle collisions with these sorts of people, he explained, is one of the major reasons why he is flailing so badly as he attempts to bring the disastrous conflict to a swift conclusion.

Seems to me that a future Democratic Congress should write and pass a new Voting Rights Act with pre-clearance requirements in all jurisdictions, strict anti-gerrymandering/apportionment rules, and comprehensive rules to protect equal access to the ballot box. And while they’re at it, they should initiate a new constitutional amendment that codifies the right of all adult US citizens to vote. Will it pass? IDK. But if you aspire to nothing, and try nothing, you get nothing. This hand wringing about how one bigoted man in a black robe has foreclosed equal rights in perpetuity is obeying in advance - that is not how progress is made.

In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national CT activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist. We will use all the tools constitutionally available to us to map them at home, identify their membership, map their ties to international organizations like Antifa, and use law enforcement tools to cripple them operationally before they can maim or kill the innocent.

Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that our gubmint is going to protect us from those super-violent transgender “ideologists.” They’re rampaging through our city streets in unbelievable numbers. /snark

I read the MM and found I had read stories that were related to what was there. I added an extra story that had been discussed yesterday with Krash.

The Extreme Court says the Voting Rights Act is no longer needed because it worked, racism is gone in this country. As a result, Southern states are actively drawing districts to eliminate Black representatives.

The six Court members who voted for this had to know that the result of their “racism is gone”claim would be overt racist acts. In other words, they knew what they were doing and wanted this outcome proving that racism is very much alive in this country. (Please don’t tell me Thomas is Black.)

That he thinks this is cool is yet another illustration that this entire administration never developed emotionally beyond the age of 15.
