GOP Plans Stalling Tactic Of Forcing Full, Many-Hour-Long Reading Of COVID Relief Bill | Talking Points Memo

Senate Republicans on Wednesday suggested they are planning to force the chamber’s clerks to fully read Democrats’ $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill — a stalling tactic that could take by some estimates up to 10 hours, delaying the vote.

The GOP now knows the bill will pass. Murkowski is now making some noises that she might vote for the bill. We’ll get through these dilatory tactics in a day or so. This thing will pass by Friday or Saturday.

The GOP constituents love the benefits they get from Democrats, but not enough to respect democrats for delivering them, or vote for Dems to represent them.

They want a functional government—but they want to destroy the party that makes it function even more.

RonAnon, the Senate’s dumbest member, continues to demonstrate there is no connection whatsoever between the brain and the billfold.

How do these fuckwits think that delaying the bill long enough to create a “gap” on March 14 and force THEIR VOTERS to re-apply for assistance is going to help them?

Oh, right, their voters are bigger fucking morons than these fuckwits are.

One would think their voters would turn against them, but it seems they would rather have that grievance then the solution. If they can’t bitch and complain what would they do? They love being the victim.

I love the steamrolling effect Democrats are using, and I hope it continues. Give the Q party notice and an opportunity to participate, then steamroll their asses into the tarmac if they try to block anything. I’ve had more than enough of the GQP bullshit tactics. The Republican party has rendered itself irrelevant by their own stupidity. Fuck em!

Does someone have to read the whole thing aloud to ronjon?

I am not sure why he is taking this approach; how will it help to cover his connections to the Kremlin?

Wow, what a great country we’ve got, huh?
Somehow, these GQP constituents rule the majority of US, because of the dysfunctionality of our Constitutional set-up and federal system.

Senator Ronamov Ivanovich must really be looking forward to his upcoming retirement in 2022.

This guy needs massive amounts of doggy-doo pancakes thrown at him whenever he appears in public. What a vindictive and clueless little motherfucker.

Is it possible to bring in 10 clerks to read the bill, clerk 1 reading part 1 at the same time as clerk 2 reads part 2, etc.?
That’d speed things up.
