IANAL, but right now the committee gets a lot of information due to the fact that nobody knows exactly what they already have and who has talked. Makes it harder for the next guy to lie to them. If they have to hand over the info to the perps’ lawyers, that information gets out and shared, allowing them to clam up or coordinate their stories. Once the hearings and committee’s investigations are complete, they’ll probably be fine with sharing what they have with the DOJ.
This was popular in China a decade ago. It’s incredibly painful. And it makes you look weird.
Charlie Crist, are you listening?
At a minimum, the states these poor people are being transported to need to start charging DeSantis directly for all expenses incurred in their care.
Joe looked pretty good in that C8 Z06 ! if GM was smart they would give him one for his 80th Birthday !! He deserves it.
If the government has evidence that would tend to exonerate the defendant, it has to turn it over to the defendant. J6 committee is basically taking the position that the rule only applies to the executive branch. That’s a bad gamble.
In general, criminal procedure does a terrible job of making evidence known to defendants and their attorneys. It leads to a lot of bad convictions, and sometimes to convictions being overturned. If J6 is sitting on anything that might exonerate the OathKeepers – no matter how stupid it might be – they might be creating a new trial situation.
Needless to say, I err on the side of disclosure.
Translation: “I’m not saying what I am plainly saying.”
I have a Presbyterian minister pal who says, “Hey, I’m not in management; I’m in sales.”
This is why I very much prefer the crazy Qcumber candidates to the buttoned up, establishment types. Guys like Youngkin lie about their positions and fool voters into thinking they’re reasonable. It’s much harder to go at an opponent who is lying about what they believe, it’s harder to draw a contrast. With people like Mastriano, it’s easy to show voters who they are. Hell, they’re telling voters who they are and asking that they vote for them anyway.
Neither am I, but what I keep coming back to is that Trumpers don’t want a “Smart-Trump.” One of the things they love most about him is that he’s as stupid as they are.
I took it to mean that they’d get access to others’ testimony against them.
I know they love poison ivy, maybe ask becca?
I wish Rand Paul’s neighbor would move in next door to Ron DeSantis…
Then Joe would be fighting with the National Archives over the car once he leave office.
Don’t get me started on Youngkin. I’m a resident of the commonwealth.
“Concerned dad in a fleece vest.” What bullshit, they’re all the same.
There is no “try”!
I’m on mobile so sorry if it’s a duplicate, but that’s one if the new EV Corvettes.
… or … um… what is that card game that involves bluffing?
Looks like the good people of Martha’s Vineyard are a whole lot more “white” than ol’ DeathSentance.
Here is the problem with that - if he didn’t tell anyone, (like POTUS Biden), it didn’t happen because Biden would not recognize the act. Hugh Hewitt is even stupider than I gave him credit for. Trump is plain delusional and is getting busted, big time, on dozens of counts. Too many to plausibly even defend against. He is also going to get sued out of every dime he and Fred the Nazi ever earned !!
And the couple dozen that try to illegally vote twice are more often than not repubs.
