I’m wondering. What if DeSantis and Abbott are left alone; you know that they’re spoiling for a confrontation with the Feds to polish their winger creds;
I think DeSantis and Abbott are spoiling for a fight with each other, and are using immigrants as a third party punching bag to prove their “toughness”. I guess nothing shows off your manhood to Republicans like punching down on defenseless people.
When our firm called for a return to the building in early-2021, we had unprecedented turnover in secretarial, case admin, and paralegal positions. We’d been meeting our billable numbers just fine when we were all remote-- so the requisite of being at a desk seemed the overriding factor. Since then, we’ve adopted a flex policy determined/approved by the attorney heading each workgroup-- and most settled on M/W/F in office and Tu/Th remote.
We’re still seeing more turnover in staff than before the lockdown-- but now seems like ‘the new normal’.
Was just responding to the part about:
“Nobody’s going to perjure themselves or commit obstruction of justice for the sake of an evil old fool who’s just a private citizen in Florida.”
Whilst I want to believe that Trump’s self-detonation countdown clock has been triggered and is advancing swiftly … I think we are going to continue to see various bad actors doing various highly unethical/ questionable / unprincipled / corrupt … things in misguided zealous support of the Crotch-face from Queens …
I do think certain people are going to - in contorted ways - perjure themselves out of their zealous devotion to him - or their perception of “the cause”
… and various others will still insanely throw themselves in front of the locomotive of justice to obstruct its progress. - if they think it will be a help to their bloated jackass hero
My opinion is that Judge Cannon has been dishonest - from the start - she proclaimed this to be a highly unique and exceptional case … and it involves the former President who appointed her - the person responsible for her being in the mix … and his team made the extraordinary step to circumvent convention and brought this case to her … to not recuse was repugnant … to coddle, assist, accede Trump team’s amateurish requests, to devour time with such questionable judicial process and rulings … all begs the question - at the end of the day … isn’t she just effectively engaging in obstruction of justice? … and doing it for very obvious partisan ideological reasons?
To be fair, at least some Evangelical congregations would respond as the folks on Martha’s Vineyard have done. I am confident that members of The Community Bible Church in my town would, for instance. But then, they aren’t crazy Evangelical.
