GOP May Face Some Defections As House Vote On January 6 Commission Bill Looms

And where was Rep Jeff Van Drew when the overly eager tourists were in the Capitol on 01/06?

“As the rules stand now, either the Democratic-appointed chair and Republican-appointed vice chair or a majority of the evenly split commission needs to approve of every subpoena.”

Wait. Wut? So can the GQP just stack the committee with MTG, Boebert, Gosar, etc. and just block it from doing anything?

I wouldn’t count on it: Hope springs eternal!

Well, sometimes it creeps, circumspectly.

The ADS write themselves. ‘YOUR representative decided it was OK to attack the Capitol and democracy!’ I’m sorry. I do not believe that the majority of the Republican Party is for this.

GOP May Face Some Defecations As House Vote On January 6 Commission Bill Looms

I thought that that was one of the crimes committed on 1/6/21, on the literal floors of the house and senate.

And what a difference an “a” made. 24 little hours… Hah.

What attack? What are you talking about? They were simply very energetic tourist visits by deep patriots!

It’s the QAnon group, hoping that the commission uncovers how Nancy plotted with the House Sergeant at arms to have the doors opened at the right time to let AntiFa flow in.

I hear that.
Remember to criticize it, too.
“TRY AGAIN, SPEAK ENGLISH THIS TIME.”
“Adjectives and nouns are different things and you should know that. Did you skip grade school English?”
Frame it as ignorance of the language supposedly their native tongue.

Except it is bi-partisan and it seems a significant number of House Republicans may vote for in favor of it. Yup, more than one leader is afraid of the emperor of Mar a Lago.

I wouldn’t even wish that on graham

Either they just can’t quit their idiotic obsession with phony bipartisanship whether out of idiotic principle or a massive misapprehension of what the public really cares about, or this is to get those petulant idiots Manchin and Sinema aboard.

Perhaps they can sweeten the deal by not only expanding its scope to include BLM & Antifa “riots”, but also Hillary’s emails and Benghazi, Bill’s sexual peccadilloes, and whether the moon landing was faked.

Do they not understand what they are doing when they say a commission investigating only the Insurrection is partisan? They are saying, in effect, that the Insurrection belongs to them, the Republican Party.

Can we not rid ourselves of these doofuses?

That is a disturbing thought. I apologize.
