Interesting…the Republican Senators all allow a statement to hear the whistleblower by unanimous consent, but the reddest Republicans in the House are still all in when it comes to defending Trump. The conflict is telling, the Reps in red areas will get reelected no matter what, and they desperately need to stick to Trump to keep their seats. The Senators have to win states, including the liberal cities…I’m sure some of them could win and would defend Trump just like the Reps, so McConnell must have shut them down. That indicates the Republicans are now terrified of losing the Senate…they must know that Trump has lots of dirt to be dug up, and they are on record defending him and helping him install a right wing slate of judges and allowing him to run roughshod all over regulations. That’s pretty damming, them turning against Trump, even in a minor statement like that, in order to save their seats, just a bunch of cowards. I honestly didn’t think they could turn on Trump, doing it so fast makes me wonder if they will throw him under the bus if the House does impeach Trump and send it to the Senate to trial.
It’s going to get ugly though, you can bet the farm (unless you’re Nunes) that all of the House right wingers will obstruct the investigations as much as they can…we will see a lot of statements like this in the next six months.

So that’s the way they’re going to frame this. Unhappy with the election results? Ok, then, remember the Bill Clinton impeachment? The GOP was unhappy with that election too. Especially given that Bill had a better outcome and two elections where he won.
