Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton (R) filed a lawsuit against Gov. Matt Bevin (R) on Thursday claiming that Bevin illegally fired two of her staffers.
As more and more CEOs spend their millions getting elected to governorships, we can expect more and more firings, sudden dismissals, illogical cutbacks and complete ignorance of how government and macroeconomics actually work. This is the price we are paying for thinking that because someone can run a company they will be good at government.
Bevin is a complete ego-maniacal horse’s ass and his twin brother is currently ruling here in Arizona (Il Douche). You cannot overemphasize what a bad idea it is to try and run the government like it is a for profit business.
“We have 30-some thousand who work for state government. And people are hired and people are let go on a regular basis. I don’t have any knowledge of the situation involving this individual,” Bevin said.
Wow. Either Bevin is totally incompetent or truly believes his crap don’t stink.
Kentuckians must be proud.
No one ever seems to point out that Lt. Gov. Hampton is a black woman. And I only do because…Kentucky… and it adds depth to the story. Funny thing, when Bevin was running for election, you never saw her much on the campaign trail with him, (because rural KY is ra-cist) but she is a Tea Party darling (another - go figure) and the baggers are all riled up about this and will not vote for Bevin because of the horrible way he treated her and her staff. Shame on him (in so many ways), but what ever helps to defeat him, bring it.
Good for her taking him on so strongly for his BS, even if she is a evangelical Tea Party member.
Yes, it threw me off too. One reason I subscribe to TPM is for clarity, and to avoid the spelling and grammar mistakes made at so many other sites. I’m not a purist on this stuff, but it has been happening more often here at TPM. Perhaps because of the need to react quickly and get stories up along with the typo-ridden sites that run the hyped headlines. “Blasts”, “decimates”, flattens” sites…
Couldn’t cut&paste (and have spell check jump in) at the news”papers”. Had to type it out.
