Sens. David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) on Sunday didn’t distance themselves from their fellow Republicans’ long shot efforts to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s victory during the Jan. 6 congressional session certifying his Electoral College win. The joint session of Congress is scheduled a day after the Georgia runoff elections that will determine the balance of the Senate.
In other words, Loeffler and Perdue are part of the coup d’etat. They, like Cruz and the other dozen or so GOP conspirators are traitors, violating their oath of office.
And now an open letter in the WaPo from 10 former defense secretaries for a peaceful transfer of power. When can we see the 16-point headline: TRAITORS. Not holding my breath.
If I see this word used one more time in the media, I swear…
This word connotes harmlessness. Just be extra extra careful. That’s inaccurate.
This behavior on the part of Republicans is destructive. We are already damaged.
The question isn’t “Will they goof up and accidentally launch a nuke or something?” The question is “Why is law enforcement not applied to rich criminals?”
As he so often does, Trump is working to make the bootlicking subservience of his minions as publicly disgraceful and humiliating as he can. Cruz will stand up before the Senate on Wednesday and say, “You know that guy who just committed a raft of state and federal election crimes, as well as possibly more serious crimes such as sedition, in his phone call the the–Republican–GA Secretary of State last Sunday? Yeah, that guy. Well, I’m here to try to overturn the election so that he can remain president.”
GA GOP Senators being foul is kind of a “dog bites man” story. The fact that Perdue won’t be able to vote makes me happy.
On the other hand, if you would like to read a “man bites dog” story…
Rep. Chip Roy is challenging the seating of the delegations from AZ PA MI WI NV and GA, basically saying if the presidential election in those states was rigged as the president contends, then so are the elections of the House delegation.
The team of Donald “Trump” Rottencrotch and Terd “Texas Justice” Cruz have demonstrated how party loyalty is cultivated in the GOP. The leader insults the member’s wife, the member retaliates with a four-year taint bathing, and Heidi ascends to First Fugly. Terd will be the Republican nominee in '24.
