As a MD resident, I wouldn’t know Andy Harris to throw a brick at him, let alone know he’s a doc (anesthesiologist). This seems like the most responsible thing I have ever heard of him doing. But I am not getting my hopes up as they will ignore the CDC guidelines for the vaccinated (keep social distancing and mask use indoors) as they push their un-conservative pro-freedum messages.
Roger Marshall quite literally had an Op-Ed in the Monday Kansas City Star blaming everyone but Republicans for not getting vaccinated. After reading it, he certainly made no positive arguments for getting vaccinated.
After I read it, I was thankful he is not my doctor.
I would have gone with “Liberal Doctors HATE this one weird trick to extend your life by up to 50 years or more!”
“Q drops crumb for how to get the vaccine without the microchip and protects you from 5G!”
Stop windmill cancer with this one easy trick!
“You won’t BELIEVE what happened when I took this vaccine!”
The number of vaccinated people contracting COVID is infinitesimal, nearly non-existent. Isn’t it in the best interest of the nation’s future for as many Republicans to become infected as possible, ergo their refusal to get vaccinated is a good thing?

I hope it works…however, when the GOP ACTIVELY worked to create chaos, doubt and loathing it’s a little late in the day to ‘urge’ constituents to go get the vaccine NOW.
“Republican doctors…what do they do?”
Soulectomys
Please, no. They oppose birth control and we don’t need more of them.
This is going to cause some frisson of discord among MO Republican legislators that are doctors. We got one state senator a ENT MD that seems to be against science and public health directives and officers. State Senator Dr. Bob Onder-R is having a right bit of snit fit with our St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page-D, anesthesiologist.
One cannot remove something that doesn’t exist!
Just the fact that this makes headlines tell you how effed up the modern GOP is.
I’m gonna be really pissed if they start offering money to these “hesitators” to get the vaccine that the rest of us sensible persons got without cash inducements.
My sister was a CFO at a large rehab/nursing facility. The staff were non-union and low-paid. Many, many refused the yearly flu shot (the shot will get me sick!) until they started offering $5 bill with the in-house shot. worked like a charm.
Maybe Biden can offer a $100 federal tax rebate for the vaccinated once they are in an approved database. That’ll kill the GOP.
There’s a huge moral hazard, and it’s crappy that people have to be given incentives to do the right thing. On the other hand, they wake up every morning, and they’re them.
I agree. I do not really care how despicable they usually are. I hope most, if not all, of the hesitant or outright reckless refusers hear and heed their leadership.
They could have put Trump up there in a white coat to urge getting vaccinated … but people
know the difference between a doctors coat and a straight jacket.
Fox News is now claiming the PSA was doctored.
The Republican cult is so far over the edge, they no longer necessarily even need Trump. The few times Trump says anything remotely reasonable, they dismiss it out of hand while defending Trump in the process.
It’s Pavlovian, with the bell (Trump) removed from the process of utter lunacy. Though, for old times sake, they still like having him around.
