Tudor Dixon, a top-polling contender in the GOP primary for Michigan governor, recently argued that young incest survivors who were impregnated by their rapist are a perfect case in support of banning abortion.
Who is god’s name would vote for someone who is this stupid and cruel?

She’s leading in the polls. Stupidity and cruelty are considered virtues by Republicans.
There is no trash worse than the self hating trash. This woman hates women. Period. End of sentence. She is no different than Clarence Thomas who hates African Americans even more than he hates women.
Children should not be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. It’s a second violation against them.

With this crowd cruelty is a valued feature and no kind of bug. They revel in it cuz it “owns the libs” with not the least thought of those they abuse.

Not that I agree with you, but maybe you could have one tiny crumb of pity for the life you’re condemning to a life sentence of sorrow, regret, horror and a lot of other fun emotions. An absolutely pitiless ideologue, this one, emotionally indistinguishable from the Khmer Rouge. Either that, or what I suspect a lot of these people are: perfectly capable of knowing that it’s depraved to make a child carry a baby to term, and have that living reminder of her rape preying on her mind for the rest of her life, they know that’s depraved, but they turn their backs to it because if you admit that there’s ever a reason to permit an abortion, if it ever once makes sense, you open the door to other reasons that are also pretty good, and pretty soon you’re back to Roe. Not a mindreader but that’s my theory.
There just can’t be that many women and men who can support her. This will cost her support.
And the Democrats damn well better not spend a cent to support cray cray republicans to improve chances for democrats. It’s the dumbest way to spend money, and one reason I give directly to candidates.
Tudor needs to get a life. This is just plan freaking crap.
God help our country if these theocratic freaks continue to win. Let’s hope she is soundly defeated in November.

The use of language is an art. She obviously failed Language Arts as a student.
Too many of these ultra-cruel forced birthers seem to think the damage begins and ends with the pregnancy itself. That is probably the most damaging and dangerous part for the child, but I expect that the fact of the pregnancy opens the child up to further abuse - sexual or physical - because the abuser is outed. Also the family has to figure out how to pay for a high-risk pregnancy and delivery or an abortion. And the family has to come to terms with the identity of the rapist - turn him in, pretend it didn’t happen? The pregnant child must deal with the reactions of her peers, including harrassment. Finally, if carried to term, the family ends up with an infant who must be cared for or given up for adoption. A horrible cascade of insults and injuries.
Children at this age and even older are not sufficiently physically developed to give birth, never mind emotionally developed. Forcing a young teen to take a fetus to labor and delivery is exceptionally dangerous to the health and well being of the girl. All life is precious it seems excepting that of a young teenage girl. These people are monsters badly disguised as human beings.
This foul witch has NO business being anywhere near the levers of power in this country. She is mentally ill. (No, I am not a psychiatrist, nor have I even met her. I just know…)
