Google Glass Chief: Augmented Reality Not ‘Immediate Goal’ | Talking Points Memo

Google is still working on the set of features that will be offered on its initial versions of a computerized glasses product known as Google Glass, according to an interview with Google Glass head engineer Babak Parviz in IEEE Spectrum magazine this week. Parviz told the publication that Google Glass won’t immediately offer much augmented reality — a term that refers to the layering of digital information over views of the real world — but the device will come with an application programming interface (API) for developers to build their own apps.
