PARIS (AP) — Southern Europe buckled under the strain of the coronavirus pandemic, with gasping patients filling the wards of hospitals in Spain and Italy as the global death toll surpassed 10,000 people worldwide.
“It took over three months to reach the first 10,000 confirmed cases, and only 12 days to reach the next 100, 000,” the U.N. health agency said Friday.
There is a reason why we call songs or videos or pictures that seemingly pop-up overnight and spread everywhere on social media “going viral”. We are now (re-)learning where that phrase comes from.
Stay Home and Stay Safe
My wife and I are over 70. We have stayed in and have stayed safe. Supplies are beginning to run out. Now we have to figure out how we are going to resupply. Amazon’s third party vendors are price gouging so I am not as enthusiastic about Amazon as I used to be. I guess my wife and I are going to have to take our lives in our hands and trudge to the grocery. The have special hours for seniors early in the morning on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
