Giroir Says Of Health Experts: ‘None Of Us Lie’ Amid Trump Attempts To Sow Fauci Distrust

Assistant Secretary for Health Brett Girioir said on Tuesday that the nation’s health experts do not lie to the public, contrary to claims by President Donald Trump this week that implied the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and others, have lied in relaying critical information about the pandemic’s impact in the United States.

The depth of corruption and unethical behavior of this administration is staggering! Why am I stunned over and over and over? It is their entire being.

Once again the White House is treating this Pandemic like its a political campaign.

Which they’re also lousy at.

Jay Rosen and Philip Bump have it surrounded. Trump’s aim is to make everyone seem untrustworthy in order to dilute his own untrustworthiness.

I would hate to be an employee of the Secret Service right now.

Can you believe this? Seriously? A BLOTUS that lies with every breath, slandering Public Health experts as liars in order to promote a pandemic that ends with death or maiming of the infected. How can any member of the Secret Service even go to work to protect a monster like this?

Fauci, who said he has not had direct contact with the President in more than five weeks, told The Financial Times in an interview published on Friday, that one of the reasons he is seldom seen in press conferences in recent weeks is probably due to him “not sugar-coating things” amid the bleak reality of the country’s bungled response to the coronavirus crisis.

In other words, Fauci won’t lie for BLOTUS. We could crush this virus if everyone wore a mask for at least three weeks, but the Orange Menace doesn’t want that. He wants you to work in order to boost the economy. He wants your children in school so that you’ll go to work. He wants you infected so you can’t vote. He attacks absentee balloting so you can’t vote. He doesn’t care if you are maimed for life or dead. He only wants his reelection, and to hell with you. He is conducting germ warfare on his own people, but they are only objects to him and they stand in the way of his reelection. He is a sociopathic monster.

I would hate to be an employee of the Secret Service right now.

Perhaps because you believe the high ideals of America that you were taught in your history textbooks.

" that while the percent positive is declining again, the country is “not out of this at all""

Yet in Bexar county, the percentage on testing positive has gone to 24%+ from 22%+ since last week.

It looks like we are building 500+ cases average a day at the moment.

I guess it is all in your perspective.

According to Woolery, the failed game show host, you all do.

Three weeks? We need masks on everybody all the time when they are out in public until we have a successful treatment and/or vaccine, however long that takes.

Standard FUD, fear, uncertainty, doubt. Putin’s people are masters at it. Now combine that with the worst narcissist seemingly in history and it is a high end concentrate. The narcissist will always move to marginalize expertise and fact to appear as the expert in all things.

The weird part is how crudely he is doing it. Smacks of more desperation. This assault on Fauci is not going to be a positive for him. But everything he is doing now has a last measure feel to it. He is throwing off all the ballast in one shot to get a bump. But he is still sinking.

The Chron’s weekly obituaries is a standalone section of the Sunday paper. I don’t subscribe or pay any attention to the obits when I am in Houston, but my rough estimate is that it’s typically about 5 broadsheets, so 20 pages total. 43 pages would be extraordinary even for the front page news section.

Trump’s economic team is coming to the conclusion that they screwed up bigly when they talked Trump into following the Swedish Plan of letting the virus wash over America. They just didn’t understand that the economy is really hundreds of millions of people making fairly rational decisions. Consumers are all individuals and they can be spooked and can’t be ordered about. No one is willing to die for the economy.

They need to blame somebody else because the entire economic team lacks integrity. That is why they are going after Fauci and the other doctors who have generally been following the science.

Never again should a President hire 3rd rate economists and cable news talking heads as his principal advisers.

BUT just to remind Giroir…

Dr. Birx has lied about Trump’s attentiveness to scientific literature…that’s probably why Trump recommended ingesting bleach, right?

Trump is the liar not Fauci nor other scientists. Unlike Trump, Fauci and others have the ability to truthfully course correct as knowledge of the virus has increased. Trump continues to dig his heels in or outright lie.

Nobody in this administration, with possibly the lone exception of Dr. Fauci, can be trusted to speak the complete and unvarnished truth.

Everything is spun to the highest degree.

They all have to be very circumspect in their wording and demeanor, rounding off every possible rough edge, playing down bad news, using numbers in a very deceptive way, with Trump in the background and sometimes in the foreground undermining everything they say, conspiracy theories and racist and antisemitic feces floating around the information ecosystem by his deliberate efforts.

Their misuse of numbers and statistics is particularly appalling to me. Trump is exploiting innumeracy and people’s fear of math to confuse people and degrade trust in how it can be responsibly used to convey information and base decisions on. Dr. Birx’s very poorly thought out graphical information dumps at the earlier coronavirus gong show extravaganzas were only effective to make Trump’s point that you cannot trust these nerds in lab coats and scarves. The broadcast media did not help matters by essentially ignoring that content instead of trying to communicate it to the public. Of course, that would take cooperation between the Trump Administration and the Enemy of the People.

Kaleigh McInanely is doing her bit to destroy any sense of reality, competence, and sober judgement on behalf of her boss, on behalf of the people they govern.

So when Admiral Giroir says that nobody’s lying, he’s lying.
