Ginsburg Reveals Treatment For Recurrence Of Cancer: ‘Fully Able’ To Serve On Court | Talking Points Memo

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Friday she remains “fully able” to serve on the Supreme Court, after revealing that she is receiving chemotherapy for a recurrence of cancer. She was also discharged from a hospital in Baltimore earlier this week for treatment of a possible infection.

Please get well…Prayers for your continued well being!

“I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam,” Ginsburg wrote in a statement issued Friday. “I remain fully able to do that.

Thank you for hanging in there!

Hmmm…an infection is euphemism for gall stone removal, like really?
And that rolls into chemo for liver cancer?

Really? What was an infection is now liver cancer.

OoooKay!

Chemo twice a week is no joke even if you are a ten year old.

Praying for RBG to make it until January 20th 2021.

Bi-weekly is every other week. It’s actually a fairly common regimen rate.
A blocked bile duct does lead to infection.

Just horrible news. Be strong, hang on. As you know 60% of the us Is counting on you…

I think not.
It’s 2x a week.

Yes, a blocked duct is inflamed. Not necessarily an infection.

Nonetheless, the overarching point is she is ill. Her illnesses are not minor. Her age with a minor illness can be fatal.

Chemo is no joke.

If 80k voters in three states hadn’t said But Her Emails, RBG could have been spending the the past 3 plus years with her family, instead of trying to hold on with every cell in her body to prevent a rethug taking her place.

As precarious as Justice Ginsburg’s health has been these last several years, I fully expect a Potus tweet that he’s replaced her on the Supreme Court with [insert some youthful right wing moron]. Y’know, just in case.

LOL! It’s both!!!

It’s bloody ambiguous!

Also, I don’t know ANYONE who has ever undertaken chemo at a twice-per-week rate.
[ETA1]: I do know multiple people who have dealt with chemo on an every-other-week basis.
[ETA2]: Inflamed bile ducts commonly turn into infections if not treated quickly enough.

I wish her well. That said, the most important priority at this point is that she receive whatever course of treatment will be most likely to extend her time of survival.

Cancer schmancer.

Hope she does, because the McConnell rule doesn’t apply in her case, and Joe Biden would need to increase the SCOTUS number of justices to 13.

I pray she can hold on. If not, her legacy will be that she held on too long, and all her work will be unravelled by the new 6-3 majority.

I had a neighbor who is on her 12th year of bi-weekly Chemo for cancer. She is a tough lady also. RBG will be there, and Donnie will not get another shot at corrupting the SCOTUS any further.

Well, if it took this long for the cancer to recur, there’s a good chance she can at least hang in there for another four to five months if not longer. I guess every liberal in the country will be holding their breath until January.

Ginsburg is a national hero, as we all know. And all who are sane and at least half-way decent hope she will be fine.

Now, even if the worst happens and she can not serve beyond, say, next week, not to worry about SCOTUS. McConnell will make sure that nominating the next Justice will have to await the next presidential term. McConnell is an honorable man with a track record. Oh, wait…
