Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland for a “benign” gallstone infection on Tuesday, according to a Supreme Court spokesperson.
She should be fine. Hard to tell what’s going on as the media refers to just about everything as an “infection” but it appears she suffered an obstruction of her bile duct ( gall badder attack ) which is easily treated. And she’s tough as nails. RBG knows better than any of us what happens if Trump gets another SCOTUS Judge. America will be done. She’ll hang in there.
If it did involve surgery it would be laproscopic and no big deal. If her doctors were able to get her pain under control ursodiol would be employed and she’s home in less than a week.
I’d ask if the tune was added to a Reuters video as a prank but Reuters itself says this:
Without covering his own face, U.S. President Donald Trump visited a Honeywell factory making N95 face masks in Arizona while Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Live and Let Die’ played in the background.
My mother had her gallbladder removed at 90 years old. She’s still rocking at 91. Hope that gives some comfort that RBG will be fine. They’re both similar in being good patients.
Surgeon did laparoscopy on my mother perhaps that is what they did with RBG:
Well, they either removed that gall stone in her cystic duct or there is a way to dissolve it. Either way, it has to come out. They removed the gallbladder in my mom and she was home the next day.
The best wish I can make for her is that I’m correct in thinking she resembles this large set of maternal great aunts I had who were the toughest old battle-axes you ever saw and did not kill easy. You could throw surgery after surgery at them and they’d just keep on for decades playing gin rummy and arguing with each other.
I assumed it was a satiric prank but this is the guy who thought “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” would be a great campaign song, so you can’t rule anything out.
holy fucking shit can we just encase Justice Ginsburg in bubble wrap and carry her around in a sedan chair for the next nine months or longer because she is currently our country’s most precious natural resource
