Big Lie efforts by Ginni Thomas, a conservative activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, to overturn the 2020 election results reportedly extended to GOP members of Congress, according to NBC News. The report comes days after the Washington Post and CBS News revealed explosive text messages from Thomas to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in the weeks after the election.
Wow. The brazen utter contempt for the system AND the rule of law. Every time someone inside the beltway lowers the morality and ethics bar some benighted snollygoster trips over it. Any bets she and Justice Thomas try to get her out of testifying because of her hubby’s job?
It’s okay to now just say Ginni Thomas is a demented QANON seditionist because she is. Her repugnant and unethical husband is as well. In a sane country Thomas would be impeached and removed. Alas, we don’t live in such a place.
The only logical solutions are: (1) Ginni Thomas must be investigated for sedition by law enforcement. This will reveal Ginni Thomas’s written communications with or references to her husband. (2) in every single case with political ramifications counsel need to request Thomas recuse himself. He’s not a good faith actor. Don’t treat him like one. The results of the motion are less important than the constant reminder Thomas is unethical.
At some point he may decide a lucrative retirement on the wingnut welfare grift is inviting.
Ginni Thomas should be subpoenaed and forced to testify. Would love to hear the bitch plead the 5th. Clarence Thomas has to resign. There can be no respect for any decision with Thomas on the Court.
I’m old enough to remember back to two weeks ago when Clarence Thomas was deeply concerned about the politicization of the Court. By his own standards, he must resign.
If Roberts continues to be as ineffectual as he’s been in policing his court, he will have presided over the worst reputational damage and questions of legitimatcy of SCOTUS, quite possibly, in history.
It is way past time to clamp down hard on these brazen scofflaws. There are consequences for words and deeds, and the fanatical rightwing like Thomas have been skating along believing that they have impunity for their insane beliefs. Each and every one of them should be called out every time they march over the line of ethical behavior. Apparently they were never taught that responsibility comes with freedom. Time to teach them that lesson!

The Executive Branch was all in, a number of Republican congressional members and state legislators were in, and now we know at least one Justice was involved in an attempted overthrow of a legitimate electoral result in complete abrogation of the Constitution.
This crime against America was so broad, so extensive, so detailed in its planning, and with numerous tentacles that it makes it more challenging to fully investigate and prosecute. But I believe we are just about there.

If Ginni is subpoenaed by the J6 Committee, how would it affect Clarence’s career if she refused to honor the subpoena, and would Roberts have to get involved?
The only reason I can see for this level of fanaticism is religion. Ginni is one of those convinced that keeping TFG in office would somehow make Jesus appear soonest. Meadows is another religious fanatic. Goddamn these people.

… it does seem that with the level of demented insurrectionist rubbish that she so freely and irresponsibly spews, there is probably little doubt that a full & complete review of her communication would eventually reveal various instances where she called for the killing of Joe Biden.
