SCOTUS sorely needs an ethics code with real teeth as well as strict criteria on what merits expulsion. As far as I know, they don’t really have any hard standards for behavior, recusals from cases, etc.
If they want the public to have confidence that they’re arriving at decisions in an impartial manner, they need to do their part.
