Georgia is the latest state to see a major surge in absentee voting in the midst of the pandemic.
It took over two weeks from the time I mailed my ballot to the time it was received (if you are in GA you can check via the “My Voter Page” on the Sec of States website). In my county DeKalb
73495 ballots were accepted
4094 voted early in person (thus cancelling their mail in ballot)
223 were not accepted due to errors)
That was as of last night
iTs AlL IllEAGls GEorGIa onLY HAs 100% Of iT’S CiTIZenS!!!
Oh my!
Will there be enough fainting couches at the ready?
Wow, that’s a lot of Karavan Kids and illegal immigrants!
The reason for that is that they mailed the ballot request form (not the ballot itself as some trumpturds are saying) to everybody.
Reap the whirlwind!
A useful Petri dish to see where things need to be improved. What’s worrying is that the info also provides a roadmap of excuses and problems for those who plan to try to mess up absentee voting. States will need good information and adequate resources to insure reliability. I doubt the WH plans to help.
…and you know absentee applications are being sent to Occupant or Current Resident…
I know these things-cause Trump said so.
As long as they don’t see a 3,500% increase in “lost or unreturned” ballots, that sounds good.
To everybody? The article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution states Atlanta’s Secretary of State sent the applications to Active Voters.
That depends how they defined active. My daughter had never voted before and she got the application, although she had only registered to vote a few months earlier so maybe that made her active.
It took a litle less than 2 weeks for mine to register as received. Also in Dekalb. My sister in Atlanta got her ballot on Friday. We sent in our application for the ballot on the same day.
Only to registered voters. Not everybody.
Registering makes you an active voter
Looking forward to a very blue Georgia this November…
I’m hoping this massive increase in absentee voting leads to a 100% decrease in the Trump Presidency come January 20, 2021.
hahahahahahaha well said.
Long as we don’t see a 2500% increase in chicanery and tomfoolery, this is wonderful.
I sat on my hands longer than I should have, so I scanned and emailed our family’s ballot applications. Gwinnett County was quick in getting our ballots to us, just one week.
We mailed our 3 ballots from our local post office on Wednesday the 3rd. MyVoter page says Accepted on June 5th.
Now we can hope these things get counted
