Why do you assume they’re doing this with the “expectation of different results”? That’s not why they’re doing this.
By persisting they invigorate their constituents that they’ve been robbed.
They gain support for more effective voter suppression state laws in the future.
They’re likely learning how the judges view these cases - presumably the same judges they’ll see in 2022 and 2024.
And a lot more.
Were I one of them, I would pursue this exact same tack. This is not insanity - it’s smart politics. But it is dangerous to democracy.
