George Wallace’s Daughter Compares Segregationist Father To Trump

Peggy Wallace Kennedy, the 69-year-old daughter of the infamously segregationist Alabama Gov. George Wallace, sees parallels between her father’s politics and that of President Donald Trump.

Incoming Trump tweet aimed at Wallace’s daughter complaining that she’s a loser and her father was just misunderstood. Good people on both sides don’t ya know!

Trump allowed the chants to continue for more than 10 seconds until they died out), then praised the chanters as “patriotic.”

There - fixed it for you. He should not get any credit for his temporary walkback since it lasted less than 24 hours. It isn’t a relevant part of the story.

it looks like where we are slipping

Much more a headfirst dive than a slip. Words matter.

I think he’s going to try to repudiate and embrace this in his typical cake-and-eat-it fashion. He knows she’s insulting him, but a lot of his minions would approve of the 1968 model Wallace, but he needs at least a few non-racist votes, so he’ll be running back and forth like those old plate-spinning acts on the Ed Sullivan Show.

So…racism and hate are NOT genetic. The behavior of donnie’s spawn would convince you otherwise.

Wallace’s daughter was not brought up in a bubble living a life of privilege, that might have something to do with it.

“There was no policy solution,” she continued. “Just white middle-class anger.”

Nailed it.

The two men are indistinguishable from one another.

I think this is what you call from the horse’s mouth.

Wallace Kennedy also said the “two greatest motivators” at her late father’s rallies were “fear and hate.”

“There was no policy solution,” she continued. “Just white middle-class anger.”

I hope these quotes come up in tonight’s debate.

That would be brilliant! I don’t dare to hope for that from CNN, however. Or only just a little.

Being Wallace’s daughter, Trump will find her easier to attack - and will enjoy it more - than if these comments came from Wallace’s son.

I really think tRump likes all this attention and talk about race. He keeps going back to the well to scoop up more virulent attacks. He thinks this is how he wins.

He’s sick. President Shit-For-Brains considers this the true calling of his entire presidency. That, and making money for himself off of being in office, of course.

Well it’s hurting him. I think the people around him want him to stop because most white people can’t handle racism this virulent and the quinnipac poll sure reflects that.

Wallace’s daughter proves the theory that a person can unlearn and feel shame over one’s racist and bigoted upbringing, and can also be taught to overcome the kind of deep hatred they were raised with.

tRump never even tried to learn those lessons even while he hobnobbed with famous African-Americans in his earlier real-estate years. He maintained his deep-seated animosity towards people of color throughout his life.

Agree except Wallace’s vile rantings were fairly anonymous whereas Donnie’s are pointedly more dangerous in being personal. Trump is worse!

Except by their offspring!

And unforunately, he is probably correct.

O come on!

Have you seen the Quinnipac poll?

There is no way this wins him anything but the votes of the crazies he already has.
