Yeah, thanks for this - five stories on the front page with Santos’ photo as the story cover. I think it’s a bit of overkill? I know the argument is that TPM’s raison d’etre is muckraking, but four of the stories are within the last 24 hours.
I’m reminded of this immortal example of poetic art:
It was a year ago, September,
a day I well remember,
I was walking up and down
in drunken pride,
when my knees began to flutter
and I fell down in the gutter,
and a pig came by and lay down by my side.
As I lay there in the gutter
thinking thoughts I could not utter,
I thought I heard a passing lady say,
“You can tell a man who boozes
by the company he chooses…”
And with that, the pig got up and walked away.
Wasn’t he a founding member of SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, being an alien from outer space, albeit not very intelligent? And didn’t he invent the Warp Engine and English muffin?
Dear hubby brought up about the EV battery disposal issue. Yes, it’s a problem that hasn’t really been entirely solved yet, but it doesn’t just affect Wyoming. It’s a problem all over as to what to do with these EV batteries once they are depleted and disposed of.
Maybe, instead of sticking one’s head in the sand, lead the charge (no pun intended) to find a way to reclaim these batteries.
My position is, the problem of disposal is much bigger in California and they will come up with the process before anyone else does. After that, it’ll become the national policy because that’s what typically happens, with California leading the way.
Meanwhile, the other horse manure in the resolution is just that. Good for fertilizer but not good for public policy.
It’s probably a pretty short list of which congressional staffers will take the gig.
You’re known by the company you keep.
I kept/keep asking who in the Republican swamp would associate themselves with this train wreck of a Congressman.
The next question is trying to find out who turned down job offers from Santos.
Wyoming lawmakers say they got what they wanted with proposal to ban EVs
…and they wonder why folks say “flyover country”
Ask Liz Cheney what she thinks of WY GOP voters. More like fuckover country. Beautiful state, dumb as bricks people.
You’re quite the cunning linguist with that comment.
MTG is probably already making plans to add this to her list of SOTU disruptions.
The next question is trying to find out who turned down job offers from Santos.
Or from Qevin.
He was supporting the troops.
Yeah like a $5 off-base hooker with a bad case of the clap.
Actually, I can see him as a gigolo. Reminds me of that psycho who murdered Versace. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been having “intimate” meetings with some of his fellow GOP reps.
Santos… heartless prick let a dog die to get money in a rip off scheme.
It was a service dog for a disabled veteran. So, you know, no harm no foul?
You are correct. My brother is heading up an international EV battery recycling effort for a California company.
It was a service dog for a disabled veteran.
The support the troops cadre should be organizing a lynch mob.
Will there be a State of the Union Address? Perhaps Joe will just send Kev a memo.
Aren’t EV batteries basically made of standard LiOn cells such as are in phones and laptops, making this a far more universal issue? And what’s the big challenge in recycling them, toxicity?
“The proliferation of electric vehicles at the expense of gas-powered vehicles will have deleterious impacts on Wyoming’s communities and will be detrimental to Wyoming’s economy and the ability for the country to efficiently engage in commerce,” the joint resolution reads.
Are Wyoming pols trying to claim “so goes Wyoming, the country will soon follow”? Geez guys if oil and gas is the only industry making money for your state then you have a real problem on your hands.
Extraction, more broadly, is Wyoming’s big industry, along with tourism, forestry and rank stupidity.
