I hope Santos does write a book, a hugely (monetarily) successful book. And then I hope all the people he grifted sue him and take all the profits of said book.
“8th Hall Of Fame win, here I come!”
I’m sure the FBI might provide some accommodations during sentencing if Santos can provide any verifiable information on those Republican cocaine orgies.
Except that from what I’ve been reading there quite a few people not running for re-election next year. And that’s in both parties. Next year will be wild as someone already pointed out. So I’m not sure how to think/feel about experienced Dems leaving. On one hand we complain about how long someone has served, and that blocks younger pols from getting elected. On the other hand I would feel more comfortable with a few well seasoned and battle hardened folks to keep Congress from blowing itself up next year.
Yes, but I’ll take it.
Joke’s on everyone else. Rep Anthony Devolder will be back in his office on Monday, assisted by his campaign manager Kitara Ravache.
So you’re hoping for a Alex Jones win.
What about Jordan, Gaetz, Perry and many others. This is exactly what I said to my wife. They voted him out because he is a Gay Hispanic. Trump has done far worse, and they support him.
The thought of Jones and Santos working for the rest of their lives to repay their victims does create a certain warmth in my heart.
Democrats have a deep bench of experienced people (just look at how easily Jeffries stepped into the leadership role after Pelosi) so the loss of a few experienced Dems is not a big deal.
The only concerns are the ones who leave in potential swing districts. For example, I’m keeping an eye on Rep. Slotkin’s MI-07 district, because while it narrowly went for Biden in 2020 (by +1 pt), it’s rated as a PVI R+2 district (the Republican 2020 senate candidate won the district by a very slim 0.1%). These are the type of districts we should be concerned about with Dem retirements or running for other office.
When you feel compelled to sing about the fatherland in public as loud as possible, check your armband. You may be a Nazi.
Mark my words: George Santos will be missed. And soon, about the week ending on January 20th.
and Jew-ish.
And once the DoJ convicts him, he will lose his pension too. Meanwhile, the grifter has refused to resign just so he can collect a few more paychecks.
I feel terrible about this. Mr. Santos appears to be such a nice young man. Its a real tragedy. Isn’t the world cruel to the good and decent like Mr. Santos.
Meanwhile, I thought of this:
May it work as well as it did for his intellectual forebear Madison Cawthorn.
Jefferies has been a member of Congress for a long time, and I certainly have no problem with him being the Dem Leader. What I was thinking about was members of committees. I believe that Daniel Goldman and Jared Moskowitz are newer than Jamie Raskin, but the three of them the Oversight Committee make a great team. I just hope we’re not losing, by retiring or God forbid not getting re-elected to many well seasoned folks.
This saga should make for a pretty funny movie.
