Before thrusting the House into chaos this week, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) actually denounced House Republicans’ baseless efforts to impeach President Joe Biden as “unserious” during an invitation-only fundraiser held over Zoom last week, according to audio obtained by NBC News.
Gaetz knows perfectly well that that is the real point of the exercise – making Biden look bad – what he would probably like to say (but knows he can’t) is that the exercise is being run so incompetently that it’s already making Repuglicans look worse.
Then Jordan and Scalise said “hold our beer” by agreeing to a face-off, er, a co-interview on Fox News before their conference meets regarding the leadership problem.
Is this five whole comments without cat pictures? Serendipity!
Other than that, is this being picked up anywhere else? We need more coverage of the fact that the GOP is no longer a functional political party, nor should their politicians be trusted with public office.
Did he mean that the impeachment was unserious in the sense that it’s basically built upon a bunch of conspiratorial bullshit and is in no way a serious investigation into legal wrongdoing by the president, or just that Comer’s committee wasn’t really laying it on hard enough to make it worthwhile?
I would post a cat picture out of a desire to do snark, but through me, pictures of the 2 dozen cats I’ve had in the last 22 years would wield a power too terrible to imagine…
I dare not open that image folder… not even to do snark…
(Actually, on consideration, I’d post a picture of my friend’s cat… Serendipity.)
You just asked the question that the article should have discussed and did not. I suppose it’s the inevitable result of Friday before a three-day weekend.
The answer, I think, is the second of your options.
