Huerta never got the credit she deserved for the United Farmworkers Movement. California needs to change it from Chavez day to Huerta day. She, and so many other women who risked more than their lives to forward the cause deserve the public’s respect and should be credited equally.
I’ve donated to the UFW. But I have to say, I knew little about Chavez private life, but I always had a feeling from the way women around him in the movement acted when interviewed. Marina Moreno (murdered) never got the credit she deserved until the past decade. This is sad, because not only are there silenced victims, but it’s going to hurt the UFW, an organization that is needed now more than ever.

Her courage is commendable. It would be a heavy thing to die with too. At sixty something, her kids can probbaly take it. It is better to know that you are the product of rape and that your mother loves you, than the product of an unhappy but “legitimate” union where your parents didn’t.

When your entire strategy is to lie your pants off, it sure is a hee hee shame that so many of them are such lousy liars.
I watched a clip of Dregseth’s 60 Minutes interview yesterday, and the near panic in his eyes when the question of Russian assistance to Iran came up was striking.
They’re really bad at this game.

During testimony before the same panel one year ago, Gabbard said that Iran’s nuclear development program was not close to creating a bomb. Gabbard refused to provide complete requested testimony because she thought that it would save the committee valuable time.
President Trump told reporters “she’s wrong” but refuses to provide evidence to bolster his claims. From what we have heard, he has not shared that information with other international leaders in an effort to garner support for his war effort. It’s a secret. He doesn’t want weapons developers, in Iran to know.
Gabbard claimed she was “not aware of what was in the warrant” in Fulton County, GA and was there at Trump’s request to “work with the FBI to observe this action.” Apparently she refused to indicate what she was there to observe.
Gabbard said that she did not “participate in a law enforcement activity, nor would I, because that does not exist within my authorities.” Apparently being present at the law-enforcement activity involved her, but she wasn’t participating in it.

Zorro being up there is a bit of an ongoing sore point with me. He, and the other cats, are not supposed to be able to get into that space. It’s above the steps that lead up to my screened porch. But the roof over those steps was added much later and there’s all these gaps where curious cats can climb in but not figure out how to get back down. And damn near impossible for me to get to them. Today I had to pull down some screening to get that little dummy out of there. This is the outside view, they climb the screens then can’t climb down backwards…

I see. We have a troublemaker cat right now too. We love him, but he keeps us hopping. He’s young and very needy and demanding. Also escapes the house at every opportunity.. He is supposed to be indoors for his safety and that of the song birds. Not the kind of creme puff I need as I recover from heart surgery!
I see it’s tropical there..

Yeah.. I live on the south edge of Punta Gorda Belize which is the last town going south in Belize. The big 2 lane highway ends in town. I live on a dirt road that ends about half mile down and after that it’s rainforest for 30 miles going into Guatemala. I have howler monkeys in the trees and toucans. And no doubt jaguars who could teach my cats some manners..

Once again, Trump demonstrates his decisive approach to governing in his courageous determination not to timely endorse in the TX Senate race. So KKKaroline Leavitt will say, but “decisive,” “courageous” and “determined” to avoid the TACO epithet once again is what I see.
