GA Sec Of State Is Done With Trump’s Rhetoric: It Creates A ‘Threat Environment’ For Election Workers

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) on Wednesday chastised President Donald Trump for refusing requests from Georgia election officials to condemn the threats of violence stemming from his “continuing claims of winning states where he obviously lost.”

Huh. This the same guy that decided now is a great time to investigate a group affiliated with Warnock who is signing up voters?

He’ll still vote straight Republican in the next election (and for the foreseeable future). I guarantee it.

“is exactly the kind of language that is at the base of growing threat environment for election workers who are simply doing their jobs.”

Threats to election workers is exactly the point of tRump’s rhetoric. It’s what bullies (assholes) do and it’s been his MO for his entire life. Unless we, through our political representatives, get serious about prosecuting this criminal activity the fascistgop will continue to employ it.

At first, I thought the goal was to shame/intimidate this man to thumb + scale the system for the Senate runoffs. But it’s gotten so harsh that I now believe he’s wanting to thumb it the other way, just as FU to DT. He seems genuinely pissed about this…will that anger last until Jan 5? Who knows.

“We will continue to do our jobs,”

The problem here is that Raffensperger is taking aim at someone who has never had any experience “doing a job”.

Trump and Georgia’s two Republican senators are, of course, scum, but what a damning indictment of the GOP base that its go-to move is frequently violence and death threats.

I appreciate their concern but where were they when Trump and his mob were targeting others and they were courting him for his blessings?

This is what happens when you sell your soul to the Devil.

And honestly, these complaints only encourage Trump.

He’s mad as hell and isn’t going to take it any more. I’d love to see him say that to Trump’s face and watch Trump melt like a witch, try to placate him, or run away like the coward he is.

The GOP official cited findings by Attorney General Bill Barr who denied Trump’s claims of voter fraud

Those findings are fake news from a trusted enabler who has gone over to the dark side and is now on Soros’s payroll working for the deep state.

Well, he’s not threatening to kill them. What will this investigation find exactly? I’d say the dems have plenty of ammo to use against his efforts if they prove to be fact-free.

Oh, he’s always been fine with voter suppression. The 200,000 people he purged from the GA voter roles didn’t have Twitter accounts and couldn’t credibly threaten him or his family I guess.

“This is exactly the kind of language that is at the base of growing threat environment for election workers who are simply doing their jobs,” Raffensperger said

So…mission accomplished?

Hey, one step at a time. His willingness to speak the truth and his bravery in the face of real threats puts him head and shoulders above most of the other Republican officials in this country. It’s a shame that the bar is so low, but when so few are willing to climb above the bar we need to support those who do.

Isn’t this the same thing that happened with public health officials at the state and local levels trying to deal with Covid? Their lives were threatened, their families threatened, some of them forced to resign their jobs, including several top state public health officials. The Republicans threaten violence when they don’t get their way, all while screaming about the non-existent antiFa or peaceful protesters. If Dems were making similar threats, Trump would declare marshall law under the Insurrection Act and arrest and probably torture the perps…or encourage his low ignorant police buddies to administer “street justice.” What scum most Republicans are. Filthy lying racist power and money mongering scum.

So calling for election officials to be “taken out and shot” and for the president “to immediately declare a limited form of Martial Law and temporarily suspend the Constitution and civilian control of these federal elections, for the sole purpose of having the military oversee a national re-vote.", is in fact a threat?

Good to know.

Now what action or consequences will follow? None means these threats have the imprimatur of being sanctioned.

First they came to pwn the libs, and I was silent.

Then they came to cage the immigrants, and I was silent.

Then they got in a dumb trade war with China that devastated the farmers, and I was silent.

Then they started promoting QAnon, and I was silent.

But when they finally came for me, I was fucking outraged about it.

That’s just it. You can’t plead with him to behave properly, and you can’t shake your fist either. He likes both reactions. He’ll just keep it up, like a schoolyard wiseass. Fortunately the electoral process rolls forward, and everyone sees now that Trump will leave office in 48 days. Luckily for the most part the people making the death threats are as childishly unserious as Trump himself. It’s a terrible experience for the victims, and I hope the idiots doing it are tracked down and prosecuted, but this is all nonsense and tantrum-throwing on Trump’s part. Time wounds all heels, and his time is coming. Best to ignore him.
