And here I thought it was the GBI coordinating with Kemp and Raffensberger to take down Trump. Man, I always get way over my skis.

Dear Secretary of State Raffensperger:

Well done on releasing the tape!

However, you should know that Republicanism is the gravest threat not just to national security but to the nation itself – to the fundamental structure of our democracy. Trump is a dictator somewhat constrained by what we have left of the rule of law. He is determined to destroy our democracy, and the entire Republican party has backed him at every turn, or at best remained silent or did a little bit of chin-stroking that has the effect of supporting him – letting him know he can do whatever he wants and he will get away with it. But the tape is a good step in the right direction!

The sickness isn’t just Trump, isn’t just the entire Republican party: it extends to the ~74 million who are politically so ignorant, so delusional, and so dishonest as to want authoritarianism – and they put their backs into ensuring they get it.

Massive multigenerational investment in higher education in rural America would militate against this ongoing and remarkably successful Republican campaign to destroy democracy in America.

Also, prosecuting Trump would be a huge help. A country that cannot prosecute a home-grown seditious malignant clown of a dictator – especially one supported by an entire major political party – is well on the way to self-ruin.

Anyway, thanks for the tape!

Where was His flatulency Rudy Giuliani? Cletus Mitchell was a disaster. She and Mark Meadows should have been out front and committed the crimes needed to overturn the election results instead of having Skanky Turdface make threats, extort, break the law and commit numerous criminal acts.

I’m so glad this human is flapping his gums; this way, no one can mistake him for being honorable or honest:

Aiding criminal activity and he moans that the tape wouldn’t have ever been released…except for…but for Trump tweeting about the call: Just a private conversation…between men?
Just where was he supposed to get 11 thousand already counted & certified votes.
GAWD, I loathe these idiots.

How do you know somewhere a tape is recording? When you see Trump’s lips are moving.

I see your point, but I’ll bet Ratffensperger knew for a fact Trump, given time, was going to tweet some stupid lie, because that’s all Trump ever does. And sure enough, not even a full day later, there he goes. Raffensperger is just using the mean tweet as a reason for revealing the tape, in my opinion. With the death threats against his family and all the headaches Trump has thrown his way, I suspect he’s fed up with the criminal-in-chief.

I would love for him to have to fly back commercial, and trudge through Customs like the rest of us. Then I hope they deny him entry for being a degenerate. I believe the evidence speaks for itself on that.

Ok. I’ll stop dreaming now.

Brad Raffensperger did not have a recording when Lindsey Graham and Rudy Giuliani extorted and threatened him into rigging the votes for Skanky Turdface. Mark Meadows, Cletus Mitchell and Skanky Turdface had called 18 times earlier. Brad Raffensperger needed the recording since there was ongoing litigation.

The airport was told to expect a 747 on Jan. 19th.

On the 19th, trump will still be president and Biden will not have any say over where he travels.

He will be using it as a private residence, and on the 19th he will still be president so unlikely Scotland will ban him. The good news is they hate him there and on the 20th they are free to express that hatred.

It’s reported that his private jet is being repaired and will be ready for flight soon. Guess he got enough money from his cult to fix it.

So your hypothesis is that he’s going to self-exile in a country where he can’t play golf? And not in Mar-a-Lignant? Okay, guess you must really have your finger on the pulse of his fast-food clogged arteries.

Investment in primary and secondary education will give more bang for the buck as far as influencing the minds of citizens. By the time they got to me, I learned over 12+ years in university classrooms, students were, (1) developmentally, not in prime neural network-weaving shape and, (2) social-psychologically, trying hard to consolidate a stable adult identity. A minority came to college open to changing their minds and social selves, but that’s a heavy lift for higher education even for them. Students, even young ones, don’t leave their beliefs and values and social relationships and collective identities at the classroom door, and those are what often pose challenges to being influenced by schooling.

Getting more Americans more and better formal education is always good. But, as I tried to propose when @tena made a similar call for it, education alone won’t effect the changes we need as long as it is widely viewed as good for job training/certification but otherwise disdained as a purveyor of irrelevant or un-American ideas. Our norms and ideals and stories and societal self-image will need to be adjusted to a different valuation of education than we currently have.
