Sounds like a good guy. I wish him the best of luck in his future private sector career.

Is Georgia one of those states where they shifted most of the power to the lt. governor due to reconstruction era oversight of the governor?

I’m pretty sure that when other skittish GOP pols see that this guy is not struck by lightning AND another Q-Trumpian goalpost slips by without the Return of the Qing, this kind of chutzpah will become more common, especially with McConnell in charge of the actual purse strings (not to be confused with the “send me money to pay my creditors PAC”, run by the Trump Org).

About 30 or 40 million more Repub voters thinking like Duncan would be nice.

Sounds like a delusional guy—he called the GQP the party of ideas.
And forgot to put the word “bad” in between “of” and “ideas.”

Sounds like someone the Dems might work with, unlike some Republican congress critters.

Can that be classified as his career-ending announcement?

Mitch, it don’t work that way. You f up the economy, you get the blame, see Bush 1 & 2 and trump. You generate recovery you get credit.

Last week, Duncan refused to preside over a session of the state Senate amid lawmakers considering a bill that would sharply restrict absentee ballot voting.

Though I’m sure I disagree with most of his policy positions, I must respect him for this. He appears to be the sort of Republican with whom we can do business.

Does anybody believe this shit?
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) suggested over the weekend that a Democratic effort to improve access to elections would lead to “using cocaine to buy votes.”

That ‘party of ideas’ bullshit is what I focused on. He is either delusional or just another bagman.

I suspect that what McConnell is really worried about is that the stimulus package will be credited with economic recovery undermining 40 years of trickle-down rhetoric and making it more difficult to cut social safety nets, and justify tax cuts to his big money donors.

In other words, a classic Republican.

“We’re the party of solutions, and we need to make sure we stay focused on that over the next four years,” Duncan said.

The level of delusion with this one is strong.
