Georgia’s Bloomingdale City Council distanced itself from Mayor Ben Rozier’s dog-whistling Facebook post on Wednesday in which he invoked anti-black stereotypes to rail against those who “TAKE TAKE TAKE” from taxpayers through public assistance programs.
We have to take our victories where we find them, I’m both pleased and completely surprised the City Counsel knew the Mayor’s remarks were offensive and decided to actually speak out. I’m guessing they will take a lot more heat than the Mayor.
privilege is “wearing $300 Beats headphones while living on public assistance,” “having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or school you don’t pay for,” and “living in public subsidized housing where you don’t have a water bill.”
Grant the Mayor even that idealized life of “privilege” and he would be begging to give it up within 48 hours.
I’m pretty sure the ones taking are the ones inflating their profits by keeping costs low by paying the working poor so little that they need to live on public assistance. If you are a billionaire and even one of your employees is on public assistance, then you owe the taxpayers…and that employee…a big fat check.
the 0.001% are fucking him over too, with a governmental structure weighted against non-multi-millionaires**
these same 0.001%ers would not be caught in the same room with him, without security personnel
**whenever I assigned my American students to do reports on the specifics of other countries, they would be astounded when they saw the maternity, retirement, medical, holiday and other benefits for the general public not present here
Privilege is “having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or school you don’t pay for,”
They’ll be wanting sinful abortions next, now that we gave them prayer-free public schools. Sin begets sin(also earphones).
