The citizenship question will not be on the 2020 census, President Trump said Thursday, in Rose Garden remarks where he appeared downcast and aggrieved.
Here’s the problem. Kirkland & Ellis has an endless supply of lawyers to serve the needs of the plutocrat class in their efforts to capture and keep the government, as well as dismantle those institutions, including the rule of law, which seem to be such a waste of time for them. Until the plutocracy goes back in its hole, they’ll always have K&E on speed-dial.
The good news may be that by the time this asinine order gets resolved in the courts, Trump’s term will be over and he will be cosigned to the hot dust bin of history.
And Bill Barr will accompany Trump to the gates of Hell.
They’re ordering every government agency to give Commerce whatever it asks for to build a big database of who’s who and where and who’s a citizen or not.
Good luck getting this one through the courts. Every citizen has standing in this case the moment they request to vacuum up records from an agency that the person has interacted with…
Sorry, but while we’ve all heard about the thankfully now obsolete 3/5’s counting of “all other persons”, I’ve never heard of the 0/5’s version, until now. Where exactly in the constitution does it say that only citizens get representation (and if so why don’t any of DC’s citizens get any?).
This too is going to court and will hopefully get struck down as well. They just won’t give up, will they? Whether it’s a cynical play to extend GOP dominance past its sell-by date or grounded in actual ideological racial elitism, this just can’t be allowed to pass muster.
