French Scientists May Have Discovered COVID Case From December

LONDON (AP) — French scientists say they may have identified a possible case of the new coronavirus dating back to December — about a month before the first cases were officially confirmed in Europe.

This possibly could explain many people’s strange and debilitating illnesses in December and January here in the states.

Whether or not these were true cases, it would be no surprise in an air travel-connected world to find the virus traveled early.

Cohen and colleagues suggested their results showed there could be many other unidentified coronavirus cases from before the disease was officially detected in Europe.

Could certainly be.

The so-called Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918, for example, has been traced back to France in 1916, and may even be slightly older.

Jonathan Ball, a professor of molecular virology at the University of Nottingham, said it was possible the results were due to lab contamination.

Entirely possible, yes.

Which still doesn’t explain why Trump insists that the year was 1917.

The only explanation that makes sense to me is that he refuses (even if his aids corrected him in private) to admit that he made a mistake, so he’s trying to change history.

So it came from France, not China. Get on it, Donald! Gotta start insulting and demeaning the French, and demanding reparations from them! Oh boy oh boy oh boy, he says. Someone else I can BLAME!

This report, if true, may indicate that COVID19 may not been as effective in the early stages in spreading as it is now. This is going to take a couple of years to sort out and some of the critical questions may never be answered definitively. Of course, none of this changes the fact that Trump totally fucked up the response.

Oh, no. He’ll have to give up french fries!

Magical thinking would dictate that you re-re-name the freedom fries…

The vaping illnesses?

No, not vaping.

It’s anecdotal, but I remember some friends and relatives getting deathly ill in January. They just thought it was the flu, even though they already had the flu shot.
