Don’t forget the expert guests that MSNBC and sometimes CNN have. Now Maddow sold me years ago because she used charts and graphs. Has anyone ever seen a chart or graph over at Fox News?
My kind of quote!
OMG, the sky is falling! If we’re not careful, soon truth will be breaking out all over.
Facts matter? SInce when?
Cynical take…
Hannity is trying to bury her chances elsewhere by endorsing her.
or…
He has some harassment thing he’s hoping she won’t bring up.
Seems like a straightforward job change for more money and increased prestige. I am pretty reluctant to ascribe a sudden change in ethics to anyone with any ability who managed to hang on and prosper at FOX for the last 23 years. That be some pretty late-blooming ethics.
Allowing Fox to hold a broadcast (FCC) license is just like allowing politically active churches to remain tax-exempt. Fox violates every journalistic standard there is. It’s a brazenly GOP network and most of its content is pure lies. Fox should lose its license and churches should be taxed on property and income.
If they were willing to pay, they could probably get mark levin, rushbo, Alex the crazy man, Glenn beck, Laura loomis and Pamela geller. Great investigative journalists! Oh, and Don Jr…he’s so photogenic.
Gift horse.
“Fox News’ chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge announced her departure from the network”
Intelligence left that network long, long ago.
(I mean come on that was a underhand lob right over the plate)
“Fox News’ chief intelligence correspondent”
Really? That’s an actual position at Fox?
you said it, kid
I object to the blithe assertion that MSNBC is just the mirror image of Fox. They are two completely different approaches to delivering their stories.
When I watch Maddow or Hayes, I know their liberal slant, they are up front about it, and I take it into consideration. They back up their opinions with facts and corroboration. Their guests, particularly on Maddow, are of the highest caliber with impressive experience and background.
Fox opinion shows insist they are being truthful and objective, while they pass along batshit conspiracy theories, make up slanderous stories out of whole cloth with no evidence, ignore major news if it portrays conservatives in a negative light, and get caught every day making factual errors, incorrect maps, misspellings, and outright lies. Many of their guests are liars, conspiracy theory wingnuts and those with a financial stake or undisclosed connections to the subject of the story.
No comparison.

It takes Maddow about five hours with help and input from her team to put together the first 27-minute long segment what we’ve grown to love and expect from her.
‘I’m happy to admit that I’m obsessed with Russia. I realize it’s controversial, and people give me a lot of grief for focusing on it. But I make no apologies.’
Yeah, I wouldn’t credit anyone who stays that long at Fox with having a crisis of conscience over ethics. The only thing that’s changed since Ailes was ousted is some of the women wear longer skirts and show less cleavage. They’ve always been and continue to be a disreputable purveyor of lies, conscientiously clinging to their daily propaganda talking points assigned at the 8 AM meeting every morning.
Herridge didn’t just find out yesterday what a journalistic shithole Fox is.
They will come to learn that some rats are better swimmers than others.
That 27 minute stretch in the beginning of her show threw me for a loop when I first started to watch her. Now I liken it to a long, but informative article in the newspaper or magazine.
And this is the shit I like. She’ll either start with the back story or history of an episode and then tie to today’s happening.
And not a chart or graph to be seen on any of their evening shows.
The mission was to uncover signs of intelligence at Fox News. She couldn’t so she’s leaving.
I will totally admit to being a Rachel fangirl. I understand why she focuses on certain storylines and forgive some of her long-winded introductions. There’s usually a very rewarding payoff.
My hubby, who spent his career in journalism, sometimes harrumphs that she’s omitting important news events. Of course. It’s not the nightly news roundup. She’s made her choices and goes with that. The Russia story is what I’m most interested in, too, so her approach works for me.
