On the morning of former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell’s death from complications of COVID-19, Fox News anchor John Roberts boosted vaccine skepticism in a now-deleted tweet. Roberts failed to acknowledge Powell’s battle with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that impairs the body’s ability to fight infections.
Fox News is entertainment for the raging red base. Anything to “own the libs” up to and including the lives of themselves and their loved ones.
John Roberts knew exactly what he was doing with that post. He deleted it due to blow back.

Again, Fox News isn’t journalism objective style unbiased news. it is entertainment seeking clicks because those equate to cash. And it is slanted exclusively for brainwashing a mass of low information idiots.
As a Canadian, my apologies for that asshole Roberts. He’s always been a performative fool. He fits right in with post Rump Faux news coverage; hard right and beyond asinine.
‘I deleted my tweet about the tragic death of Colin Powell because many people interpreted it as anti-vax.’ They INTERPRETED it like that because several of you cringy aholes on FOX rushed out the same BS without acknowledging Powell’s age and blood cancer.
So, John Roberts is STILL an irresponsible moron. Didn’t CNN fire him, along with a few others over the years for being, well, far-right wackjobs, e.g. Dodds, Hemmer, etc.?
Also, totally OT question. I assume that AirBnb won’t work with you if it would violate local laws, neighborhood rules and your lease, and so on. But are there “gray market” versions of it that allow people to sublet rooms, apartments and houses anyway, that I assume are illegal but not so easy to shut down? I’m sure there are. I just don’t know what they are.
I ask because our downstairs neighbors, none of whom appears to have worked since covid began so money must be tight, have been receiving a steady stream of “guests” lately, and it just feels off. We don’t get along so it’s not like I can ask them and even if I did they’d just lie. No big deal, it’s not a huge problem–so far. Just wondering and in case it does get out of hand.
He could not simply apologize for the questioning the science antivax tweet and leave it at that. He threw in other stuff and of course a but, there is always a but.
Every time I click on a tweet from anyone of that ilk, I immediately regret it - I’m not signed into twitter on my work PC and by clicking on a link, I see a whole host of other ill-thought or misinformed tweets and it depresses the shit out of me.
“I am deeply sorry if my telling you the truth about your being a big fat stupid moron hurt your feelings. It was not my intention to do so and I deeply regret it, respectfully, you big fat stupid moron.”
Arizona has had about 20,000 covid deaths so far, most of which came after last year’s election season. Assuming a roughly 2:1 ratio of dead MAGAs to dead normies (I think that ratio is probably about right, but I don’t have any actual statistics to back it up), it’s entirely plausible that covid denialism and horse dewormer will keep Arizona in the blue column next time around. Same thing for any of the other 2020 swing states.
